You don't pay a guard to be athletic. You pay him to kick ace and take names in the trenches. Allen did that better than anyone in the history of the game, and is still stronger than anyone in football. He can't outrun a stump, but if he get's his hands on you, you become a non factor on that play.

Unfortunately we don't play against stumps.

Kosier is far better than Rivera, good to see the 30 yard slant king, back in form.

Bein better than Rivera isnt an accomplishment. However, he ist far better by any stretch. Kosier is frail for a man his size.

Actually, yes we do. What really was detrimental about Larry was he couldn't get to the 2nd level before the RB. Multiple TDs have been scored by Barber this year when Kosier got to the LB on the next level and cleared the way.

Kosier hasnt done anything bad, in fact he has been very good and guess what he is young and will be here for a while.

Also last time I checked our red zone and 3rd and 4th and short have been great.

I loved larry allen but it was time. I am happy for him though. But I dont think it was the wrong decision and I think they made a good one in kosier.

I believe Larry Allen is better at the job of playing offensive guard in the NFL, yes

Some teams do want to see athletic ability out of their guards. Larry is not near the player he once was and clearly not worth the money he was due. While you are correct IF Larry got his hand on you then that player was a non factor but the truth of the matter is he was not getting his hands on those player and guys were blowing past him. In short yardage he was being stalemated at the line. Living off Larry past was not going to help this team it would also be irresponsible for Jones to be wasting cap dollars on players whose best day were gone. It was that type of loyalty that got Dallas in cap trouble to start with.

If that's the case, then LA was always a terrible lineman. He was always one of the slower guards in footbal.

Why the ripping of Kosier? He's been solid.... look we have to save $ if we are going to be able to be competitive and sign impact free agents. He's done a good job... not many penalties, etc. Rivera has been the weak link...

but let's not forget MB3 has 13 rushing touchdowns this season and Kosier is part of that equation.
