If this thread title is incorrect it needs to be fixed. None of us need false good news after the run of crap this offseason has provided.
Just wait.

The next nugget of good news will be that our practice squad is comprised completely of the same trash we just cut and of course we end up being found guilty of tampering with Sanchez and lose a draft pick.

Either way...the League has to say something soon in order to allow Dallas to make appropriate roster moves.

No question.

But if he can come back (at some point) and at least be able to fire off at the snap and get around the corner like no one else on the roster– It will be a nice addition.

It's been said that he was the best pure pass-rushing prospect out of the last two drafts, so there are some tools there.

He's got some tools which is why we took the chance on him but let's be honest he's not going to be with the team very long. It's only a matter of time before he tests positive a 3rd time. If he doesn't play well he'll be gone before he ever gets the chance to test positive a 3rd time. I doubt he'll be very effective when he comes back because he's missed too many games and has had too much going on outside of football plus he has little talent around him. Our DL looks about as weak as I can ever remember it. A young player like Gregory needs some help around them and with most eyes on him it's not going to be easy for him.

Doesn't make a whole lot of difference at this point are they going to get him our of rehab and up to speed in 4 weeks?

Oh so he needs to go get a real job then he will be fixed due to the perspective he will gain....tough love huh? He just needs a kick in the pants that working a real job would give him.
Come on. If national public humiliation, letting down his family, embarrassing his parents, letting down his teammates, former coaches, Jerry Jones, ect isn't enough to stop him then what makes you think working shift work at Walmart would "fix him".

BOOTSTRAPS!!!
Yeah he'll either learn now or in a few years when hes out of the league making squat compared to what he is now. Then you'll hear stories like "miraculous turnaround from once troubled ex cowboy Gregory". Theres a difference between being a millionaire with a drug problem and a working class family man with a drug problem. He'll either get past his drug problem trying to survive or he'll continue being selfish and a waste of potential.

Predicting with certainty on any player at this point, is a gamble to begin with. What has been added, is the return of a potentially strong contributor to a future projection. That is good no matter the immediate past...some people actually do win in their struggles with life.,

They don't have to say anything. He is going to be suspended for at least four weeks. Team should have already been moving on with that in mind already.

I mean they need to say something before week 4 of the season. That will be here before we blink...

Lol im sure. The only good development weve had is Dak and as great as his preseason has been its terrible thinking he will no longer be able to develop with the luxury of sitting behind Tony. Zeke looked great for half a dozen carries also haha.

They can probably wait as long as they want. It is up to the Cowboys to prepare accordingly, as in prepare for ten weeks.

You are right about that. Imagine if the "new hope" in Prescott was not there. Things would look pretty rough.

At least we have that glimmer if or until reality sets in when the games count.

Makes you wonder how all the misinformation gets out there? Someone leaking the information? A reporter trying too hard to be the first break the news without confirming the facts?

I'm confused. Did they ever officially suspend him for 10 games? If not, how can there be an appeal?

No.

The NFL never announced a 10 game suspension, there was just rampant speculation about it following reports Randy Gregory failed another test.

Gregory evidently missed a test when he left the treatment center for a weekend, missing a test can count the same as failing a test, but not absolutely. If it appeared Gregory was avoiding being tested, that would be bad, but a valid excuse and/or appearing to do well in the treatment center could go in Randy's favor.

The Medical Director is given a lot of leeway in these cases.

Somewhere in a darkened dungeon, covered with pools of animal blood and twig figures, John Mara raises both hands towards the heavens and laughs.
