The writer's closing paragraph perfectly sums up the favoritism the NFL has shown between Gregory & Bell

Gregory is being called a lost cause and a waste, whereas Bell is being praised as a potential MVP if not just for those missed test hiccups. In the end the handling of the two players by the NFL and NFLPA is appalling. This is in no way saying Gregory should have been off the hook, but the slap on the wrist for one player and the death sentence to another’s career makes no sense.
Amen.

Wasn't he in the middle of serving a 4 game suspension when they announced his 10 games suspension? They didn't wait for his current suspension to be completed then...again, as stated by many, it's the inconsistencies that makes you question the integrity of the NFL front office.

You might be right, I can't remember. I think I just assumed the lack of information was due to him already being suspended. I totally agree that the inconsistencies are infuriating.

BTW, I'd totally forgotten Bell had been ARRESTED both driving drunk and with weed.
This is what I brought up in the other thread.

Goodell is showing leniency towards players that are smoking weed socially while partying yet shows no compassion towards Gregory who is most likely doing it in a dark room to cope his medical issues. It's sickening and it sickens me how the Jones family takes it on the chin without raising hell.

He doesn't. He is what the owners want him to be. If not, he is instantly replaced. He knows it....he is not a fool.
Eugene Upshaw, 19 years President of the Player's Association, had a similar if not larger salary, but didn't play 'Uncle Tom' on real issues.

Sorry, but a 'fool' loses his dignity. That to this fan, is an unsurmountable price.

Floyd was caught live on camera driving so drunk he PASSED OUT behind the wheel. And yet he'll be catching passes from Tom Brady in the playoffs. It's insane.

No outcry from the media too. Could you imagine....my God could you imagine the outcry if Jerry pulled this stunt? Imagine how angry you'll be if he catches the game winning TD against us in the Super Bowl.

the PA is a rat union and doesn't look out for its playres.

Keep telling yourself that, when it brought the NFL down to it's knees with a blow to the jaw. (forced a lockout) Then there are billions being spent for player injury protections right now...following the 'bloody mornin' after.

Goodell sold out before he took this job. Its part of the job. He is no union man!! He only represents the owners. We are discussing two completely different things. Upshaw, was a Player and had personal accountability to the players. Goodell is just a shrill for ownership! I have some respect for Upshaw...he " probably" did his best. Goodell makes me sick..he is a hypocrite and his " interests" are those of his owners. Its not complicated..outside of understanding what Owners have the most power?
