This is my main reason why I do not like the patriots. That franchise no matter who they play they are successful. It goes to show from top to bottom of the organization they are doing it to perfection. I really wish dallas did it this way:banghead:

I'm sure many of us watched the Pats/Texans game last night.

It sure seemed to me the Texans were overly confident in that game..

playing a 3rd string QB seemed to have taken them out of the game.

I seems like they bought in to all the media hype about how much trouble the Pats were in.

Guess not.

Hope we don't commit the same mistake against the Bears.

Here's hoping.....

Is Belichick coaching the Bears?

I wish he was our coach :(

It's not overconfidence, it's a lack of situational awareness and discipline. It's not that the Patriots have better players or are making more spectacular plays, they are simply sucking less than the rest of the league. Perfect example -- Texans punt the ball, Patriots returner attempts to catch it but gets bumped by a Texans defender at the last second. Texans defender proceeds to get up and celebrate his "big hit," not realizing that his "big hit" came BEFORE the ball got there, and got a 15-yard penalty as a result. The Patriots simply do not make these types of mistakes, they play sound fundamental football while everyone around them is making one stupid mistake after another, often celebrating after those mistakes are made, underscoring just how clueless they really are.

Unfortunately, we are one of the stupidest teams out there in terms of situational football. Williams' decision to not run out of bounds was just one example in a long list of brain-dead mistakes by this team. It is also the reason why we couldn't win a game without our starting QB last year. Yes, the backup QB play was horrific, but we were in a bunch of games until the very end, only to lose every single one of them. That's because our coaches and players have zero situational awareness and would often make that last-second bonehead decision that would seal our fate.

Yeah, one has the best NFL coach ever, the other has John Fox, who is mediocre.
Not sure I agree with that.
He took the Panthers to the Superbowl, the Broncos to a Superbowl and won a playoff game with Tim Freaking Tebow. Seems a tad bit better than the coach we have.

If you think John Fox is a good coach, you just don't know. Yeah, sure he took the Broncos to the SB. That's why Elway couldn't boot him out of the organization fast enough. Elway can't stand John Fox and with good reason -- Fox is way too loose with his practices, his players have no accountability, etc. If you think our team is undisciplined, a John Fox coached team is even worse, and that's saying something.

As mentioned two fumbled kickoffs rarely results in a win. I'd be willing to bet no team has won a game that fumbled two ko.s. Throw in an int and not getting it to the patriots side of the field til almost the 4th quarter, sounds like a 27-0 beat down.
It's not like that 3rd stringer played well...I think he had 1 or 2 passes over 10 yards. A decent NFL team beats the Pats, but it does always seem to go that way for Belicheck

Tom Brady isn't looking so good these days. 14-5 without him. Apparently, it was Belichick all along.

LOL at the thought of this team beng over confident! They are 1-1 with rookies and JAGs. No one should be overbooking any team.

Same thing in most every NFL city.

After running off Kubiak on a rail (he just won a Super Bowl in Denver), now the Texans fans are wanting O'Brien out. They hate their QB, and they are livid over the playcalling.

Sound familiar?

It's the LCD response to everything.

If you see a good team right now, then more power to you.

I think there's a ways to go. They can start by not having a close game with a team as bad as the Bears.

We look pretty .500 to me right now. Mainly because the OL/running game that's supposed to be the real strength of the team has been underwhelming (still pretty good, but not a difference making unit). That changes, though, if Dak pushes the ball downfield successfully or if Tony Romo comes back. I'd like to see what it looks like with us back to running against normal fronts and with this defense playing with a two-score lead now and then. We'd look like a completely different team. Until we play somebody good again, anyway.

Agreed.

In the past we've been both a streaky big-play passing team or a consistent running team. Right now, neither is happening - but it certainly could.

How can any team come in overconfident against the Pats and the system they run. They just plug in another guy and roll to a win.
Trying to put my finger on it and I think one of the differences in the Pats success from any other team(s)(besides obviously great the coaching) is they have a very strong core of back up or 2nd string players. Amazing how they find these players, many of them FA and bring them back to life. Sure Brady is amazing but you can see they thrive on total team effort and all look motivated to be the guy that makes the next play whether on ST, defense or offense. Their defense is tough as nails.
Dang I wish we could get a little more of that or what ever it is in Dallas.

Wait..did you just reference a HC who was 37-43 in his first 5 seasons and ridden out of town on a rail because he can't coach, plays too conservatively, and is a horrible play caller who went to another team with exceptional talent and then won a Superbowl? Maybe there's something to this 'players win championships' thing, after all.
