How bad are we going to be?

...I know this thread seems harsh. But, Im not complaining actually. I am also not going to stop being a fan. I am just resolved to the fact that there is a decent chance the Cowboys won't win another championship in the next 20 years. Seriously.

Lol.

No we are not. We are a below average team with no depth. Our in-game coaching is sub-par, our QB is oldish and less mobile. We have a decent OL, in theory, a decent receiving corps, in theory and an average running back. Our defense was one of the worst in history last year and is missing 3 of its best players from that squad.

I know we want to believe. But this thread is about talking the truth.

This thread, as all others, is about opinions.

This "truth" crutch gets old.

Downgrading my original prediction of 6-10 to 5-11. Just don't see much better than that with no pass rush or run defense. Plus Garrett is still the HC so that's a handicap as well.

I think I'm going with a 'Campo-esque' 5-11.

With a trip to Sea World thrown in!

:p

6-10

Defense will be worse than last year is my biggest fear. Offense has the talent to bail out the defense, it's just hard to do regularly. Also, they seem to always shoot themselves in the foot at inopportune times.

I wonder how long before McClain quits again.

At least 8-8 with a real shot at the NFCE. We have too much offensive to not win at least half our games. We have as good a chance as any NFCE team to take the division. All right, I'll give the Eagles a slight edge because I don't think Kelly will cost them a game like Garrett will do to us.

Really hard to say, but I assume in the 7-9 to 9-7 range.
I'll make a guess before the 1st game to "go on record". Just so we can look back.

I'm writing down all of these predictions with names and numbers so we have a record.

Shocking how many 4-12 to 6-10 range guesses.
That schedule does look pretty nasty.

The O-line will not be a good as advertised. Inconsistent on both run blocking and pass blocking. Romo misses a few games due to taking hits. Murray has a good but not great year.

The defense plays better than expected. Ranks somewhere between 16th and 20th. Plays a bend but don't break style. Melton proves to be not much better than Crawford. McClain disappears in second half of season and is benched. A no-name defense for sure.

We will contend for second in the NFC East behind the Eagles. The G-men have another so-so year and Commanders struggle as well. We win somewhere between 7 and 10 games.

I guess for the sake of just tossing numbers out there people will answer this, but no one knows for sure what anybodies record will be. I do know that somebody will be right. I just don't understand how people can say Dallas will be 5-11, 7-9, 6-10 or any of those records reversed.. They haven't played one game. I say just sit back and enjoy the ride.. There are too many variables to say yay or nay..

4-12... Garrett gets fired and art Briles hired. and with the 5th selection of the 2014 NFL draft the Cowboys select. Bryce Petty QB Baylor University

6-7 wins if any more key players get hurt and Romo does not perform at least as good as last year..

8-8 again if Romo has a good year, the run game is better and the defense plays about as well as most expect (which is not saying much)

9-10 wins if Romo has a good year, the run game is very good and 1-2 players on the defense play above the level that we are expecting or the cowboys get a couple of breaks by facing some teams backup QB's.

Im optimistic for 9-10 wins - but if i had to put money down id go with 8-8.
