How bad are we going to be?

Yeah. A defense which lost its' best three players. And yet some people somehow expect improvement.

Of course you do. Your sense of fandom requires it

Once again, fandom over facts. Unproven is now 'young and hungry'. A guy who was here for the worst ever is now a 'new DC'. Even though he's running the same scheme his good buddy did. The one that set those records for futility.

We already have our 'rash of injuries' and we haven't played a game yet.

We still have no idea of what our front seven is supposed to look like and we're less than two weeks away.

We WILL see...

We lost Lee last year as well, Ware has not played good ball since 2011 much of it due to injury but non the less he was a non factor last season so what did we lose in not having him this year? Hatcher he is out right now with a knee injury. Mean time I do think guys who are entering their 2nd and 3rd season and 2nd season in the same system it a plus not to
mention
we had a lot of street FA coming and going last season with no camp, signed on Monday and playing on Sunday this season at least the unit has guys who have gone through training camp with the team.

I find it strange that Ware was so great that we had the worst defense in team history? I like him but he has not done anything for the Cowboys in a while

Won't participate...similar to how much of our *** is going to get beat. A loser can never start out on top.

I think you know deep down inside. Its ok to suspend that in the excitement of a new season.

I know deep down inside that it will be fans like you who will be the 1st to jump up and down and yell Cowboys! We did it! if the team were to make the big push to the title. Pathetic and enjoyable thread. That's why I'm here ...to read this garbage lol. Oh...cue the circus music.

5.

I mentioned that earlier in this thread.

Schedule is too tough and the defense is that bad.

Is the schedule really all that tough.... it may look like it is more tough because the way it is layed out. But is it really?

49ers, Saints, Seahawks, and 2 of those are at home.
Bears, Colts, possibly the Cardinals, and 2 of those are at home.

Titans, Rams [without Bradford now], Texans, Jaguars

Then the NFC East, are you that afraid of any of these teams, that we couldn't be 4-2 against.

I remember being 1 of only about 3 Cowboys fans that were excited when Jerry and Jimmy took over the Cowboys. It didn't keep the millions of naysayers from celebrating when they won the 3 super bowls.

Let us not beat around the bush here. We have been a mediocre team that has regressed while most of the league has gotten better. Even if you are just standing still, the rest of the league will pass you by. And we have been going backwards.

So, how bad are we going to be? I think 4 to 5 wins tops. I think the team will play hard for the coach. I think Romo is past his prime, can't move like he once did and is no longer a top tier quarterback. I think the defense will be horrible, albiet probably not as statistically as bad as last year, because the offense wont force our opponents to attack us as much to beat us.

I think Garrett is gone after this year. I think our scouting department, however, is one of our real weaknesses, but our owner continues to trust the same old geezers hes had for 100 years.

Speaking of our owner, I think he is entering senility. Not to be harsh, but I expect decisions to get worse from here on out. I think Jerry as to the point where he is ok with losing, as long as the franchise becomes more valuable. Hes happy with his investment. But all the testosterone and vitality that led to those 90s championships, that is all gone now.

Stephen is a muppet of his father, so I don't see much changing there. Even when Jerry passes, Stephen will run the team in the same, "owner knows best," philosophy.

I know this thread seems harsh. But, Im not complaining actually. I am also not going to stop being a fan. I am just resolved to the fact that there is a decent chance the Cowboys won't win another championship in the next 20 years. Seriously.

Whens the last time we've gone 4-5 wins? It's been a long time, and I don't think it's happening anytime soon.

I still have a hard time seeing why we would be much worse than last year. We should have the same very good offense/very bad defense team we had last year. With a little luck we could easily win this sorry division, which literally might be the worst in the NFL.

That's if Romo's back holds up, of course.

You haven't even seen the defense in a real game yet!

So, tell us...who on defense will be the starters on opening day?

(that's what I thought)

Homie? I didn't talk shyte on the block...and won't.

Backing down doesn't help anyone, whether a fan or not...not amused.

Homie isn't shyte talking. It's a term of endearment.

For instance, I used to have this cat named Kit Kat. She lived with me and my parents when I was in grad school. After I moved out, Kit Kat came with me. I wouldn't have had it any other way because she I knew was my cat despite the four other people lived under my parents' roof. It's not really fair to say she was my cat, though. You don't pick cats; they pick you. And she definitely picked me. You know how I knew?

I had an open space between the door to my room and the roof above it. It was about a foot or so deep...just big enough for a house cat to get through. Every night, I would close the door to my room so I could read for school and complete whatever essay I was assigned in peace. I was an English major, you see, so I had copious amounts of writing. Every night, that cat would scale the side of my door frame, climb up to the space atop the door, and jump down inside my room. I didn't have the heart to toss her out...not after the herculean effort she'd given just to get inside my room to see me. That's how I knew she'd loved and picked me out of everyone in my family.

She left claw marks all along my door frame. But that was okay. I viewed them as marks of love. I called that cat "my homie."

Agree with everything you said but prepare to be annihilated by the rainbows and lollipops crowd. 5-11

You agree with that garbage? That is the kind of stuff that influences you being a Cowboy fan?

Then why don't you and he go find a team that will win something in "the next 20 years". Seriously....
