That's why I'd prefer to rank them alphabetically. Aikman wins, hands down.

The rules today help ALL THE QB'S. That is just a fact. It more like flag football than ever before in terms of throwing statistics. It often looks like a 7 on 7 drill. If pass interference had been called in Aikman's time the way it is today, if they couldn't have hit him above the shoulders, etc. etc... who knows?

To me there has been much more change in football from the 90's until now (in terms of helping offense) than any time between the 70's and 90's.

Yea, that is like saying Emmitt never had to do much except run behind that great offensive line, heh.

Absolutely on the money rcaldw. I'm a Romo fan but he's not even in the same league as Roger and Troy. People also forget that Troy went behind center with two plays, one run and one pass. He didn't constantly audible out of a run play and pad his stats. Not blaming Romo for the audibles because the game has changed but just saying that Troy never threw ball 40 or 50 times a game. He was always selfless and workmanlike, sacrificing stats for wins. The guy was a surgeon.

If anyone has any doubts, go watch the 94 NFC championship game and see what Troy did when we had to open up the offense because we fell behind 21 to 0. The man was an incredible talent and Tony's not even in the same league.

So it is okay to disrespect Romo? If anything is ban worthy it should be trolling any positive thread and crapping all over it.

Well, we don't ban people for being stupid and I'm not saying anyone here has posted anything stupid. Just replying to the idea of banning.

    Different eras

Very different players...though I do think Staubach and Romo have some similarities ...which may explain some why Roger has such a soft spot for him.

Have to respect the hardware though!

I guess passing for 322 yards on the road at messy Candle Stick doesn't do much for you?

This new era of fans don't deserve a championship. Disrespecting Aikman.

It's fine you feel that way and others have the right to express themselves; within the guidelines.

I'm not propping anyone up I just think Aikman is incredibly overrated. I love him to death, honestly. But again, what did he really have to do besides hand the ball off? If I'm not mistaken, they started their 1993 season out 0-2 and magically started winning games when Emmitt came back.

It's not to say that I don't think he's good, he's obviously in the HOF for a reason. But he's pretty low tier compared to the other players in there.

I don't think you can ignore the fact that Aikman and Staubach were clutch for their teams when they needed to be. Romo doesn't have near the same kind of teams built around him, but I don't think he can surpass the other two without some of those playoff clutch performances.

I have no idea how to rank those great QBs but it's amazing how little love Meredith gets. Maybe it's because few here actually saw him play. Now I might rank him last too; don't know. But most here have no idea how good he was, how much crap he took, and how beat up he was for most of his career.

If you've recorded any of Dallas' playoff performances during those season, you need to watch them to refresh your memory.
