How's RB Dalvin Cook sound for the playoff run?

The Dallas Cowboys have already secured their playoff spot, and if they beat the Washington Commanders on Sunday, they'll be NFC East champions and the NFC's No. 2 seed as well.

That's one reason Dallas should be at the top of Cook's list. The other is that the Cowboys have a dire need for a quality ball-carrier. Their offense has been plenty potent with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb leading the charge, but the Cowboys have struggled to consistently move the ball on the ground.

Tony Pollard has been a terrific dual-threat in Mike McCarthy's offense, but he's averaging just 4.0 yards per carry. As a team, the Cowboys rank 19th in yards per carry (4.1), and there isn't a running back who has averaged more than Pollard for the Cowboys this season.

Cook could help fill the inside-running role that Ezekiel Elliott held while splitting time with Pollard last season. McCarthy's system also uses a lot of principles of the West Coast offense, for which Cook's running-receiving skill set would be ideal.

Dallas might not be viewed in the same light as Baltimore or San Francisco. However, it will be a tough out in the playoffs if it claims the No. 2 seed and doesn't face a road game until, potentially, the NFC title game. The Cowboys can offer Cook both an immediate on-field opportunity and a realistic shot at reaching Super Bowl LVIII.

Cowboys realistically only have two roster spots to play with... If they re-sign Wilson and Collins, then there's your two. Who you cutting for a RB who hasn't produced much more than your RB2?
I think like Collins, Cook would be a PS add that we bring up for games. Don't think we would want to cut anyone for him. Now, that we have signed Collins, we could cut a player like Dakoda Shepley from the PS without blinking.

wow went from 4 thousand yard seasons to not even getting 300 yards and stuck as a back up RB. Whats up with that?
because he went to a team with an excellent young rb who came back from injury much quicker than expected, then the same offense got stalled by its star qb getting hurt so they have not been able to stay on the field with a series of backups. watch some espn man :)

Dude is washed and is just a name at this point. I'd rather go back to Zeke than him. It's that bad.

Dalvin Cook was just released by the Jets and if he has any gas left in the tank, the Cowboys should grab him immediately! One thing the Boys are missing is that big back to move the pile and here could possibly a player to have in the playoffs that can do just that! A New Year's gift laid at the doorstep!!
We already have Brandon Cooks. Too many Cooks spoils the pot.

Cook is nowhere near the bell cow running back that he used to be during his first six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, however, he would make for a solid No. 2 running back on a team that needs him.

And a fresh set of legs is exactly what the Cowboys could use as they make a Super Bowl run.

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy stressed on Monday that they need to spend more time on their run game during preparation this week since it's nowhere near where it's supposed to be.

Starting running back Tony Pollard hasn't been his explosive self and it shows as he has been held to under 60 rushing yards and zero rushing TDs in four straight contests.

We have to at least look into this. Jets did him a favor and let him take a chance at the playoffs. Hope we can do this. We need help badly.
