You need a break as well. Just a suggestion. You shouldn’t comment until after the season. Go follow Bama.
I'm going to suggest....that you not make suggestions anymore...until TC 2024.

CUTTING OFF ALL FURTHER SUGGESTIONS ON THIS THREAD. NO DOUBLE SUGGESTIONS...NO TRIPLE STAMP SUGGESTIONS...NO TAKESIES BACKSIES SUGGESTIONS.

As a linebacker, his other skills needed are NOT ignored or excused. He is a very talented man and at least good as was Demarcus Ware...but he is still a linebacker that also bound to be the best that he can be. That or move him to defensive end. So that he can be the best that he can be at that position. Two different positional requirements involved.
I whole heartedly disagree. You don't take a player with his skillset and line him up exclusively in one position. The beauty of his skillset is the ability to move him around. He has shown the ability to do so admirably. When he gets lined up exclusively at the same DE position, play after play, the OL, OC and QB, knows where he is. They plan for him every play. He could become less effective with successful blocking execution. With that being said, I have seen Parsons consistently beat double and triple teams. Keeping him isolated in one position makes it easier to plan for him, but the execution of the opposing offensive plan still may not work.

I have seen Quinn line Micah up by himself at DE and nobody on his side of the field playing defense, and beat the OT, OG and RB chip to the QB for a loss. I have also seen him shoot a gap from a LBer spot and damn near take the ball from the QB before he could hand it off on a stretch play or toss.

While playing LB and DE, I have seen him chase down plays and create havoc at a generational level.

There are some folks on this team you can start easily threads about, but barking up the 11 tree is a poor place to start.

You haven't touched an item of discussion. Is that today's form of stupid on...instead of straight ahead?

Bring a legitimate discussion and let's just see...or even your back stabbing way to be cute in an insult by implication? You and Shakespeare, right?
 What lol? Why are you so upset?

Skills have improved on the average players, but baics are still day one on what it takes to be a good play when paying attention to team directions.
It certainly isn't a now it's ours to that of those old folks home...That is a cop out of being a fan.

Lost on that post is the fact that they are all Hall of Fame and strongly entered.
The game has changed. You listed guys who played 40 years ago its just a different time.

On this absolutely not lol.

Let’s be fair here. If parsons starting smoking crack. He’d probably be diagnosing plays pretty fast too
That is highly against the law, and this discussion centers around their play on the field...you ever smoke?

That's not football related as well as not the point on focus being made either.

To exclusively retain a single spot on the field is a departure completely from the ground work for the point. You don't place any player on a fifteen foot of carpet and tell him to just stand there.

The team has specificly stated that Parsons is a linebacker. OK, he's a linebacker however it is they presently use him. The team can move him around as any position on the team does, to give them and that player advantages.

From that point, flexability is enhanced.

Parsons has great physical skills. All of that is not questioned either - nor has that ever been presented as a problem...at all.

He is a linebacker, and he will be moved around, even sometimes lining up in the middle or sides. Usually a side...left or right.

Right there is where all complaints end...he still has positional leadership responsibilities of a LINEBACKER. He is the leader of the positional group. The rest of the defense responds around what he does, which has not changed nor even anywhere attacked at core.

Renaming what was stated is the problem above.

*Parsons is working steadily this off season for growth as a player. That is without doubt.

With his push to expand his own abilities, that is admirable. But he has another level that involves the nature and climate of a linebacker. He has room to expand and get even better.

That takes time, communications, and focus in team settings. But the group of Hall of Famers are exactly applicable, as they all have already been there, done that, and WERE forged in fire.

The very best the sport has to offer.

Try and label them out of a comparison group by putting an empty label of 'today's sport,' just ignores the fact required for very top of sport success and defensive dominance!

The Manster took karate classes as a player. It helped him...but at an early entry point, no black belt was going to ask him to break four 1" wooden boards with a side kick.

That takes development as well as directed focus. Same with defensive positions as well. Randy White still uses the striking techniques in his schools for kids.

No one doubts the uniqueness of Parsons' skills nor do I. At no point did I question the ability he has. But even now, he's not the top leader on the defensive side of the ball for Dallas, he has to still earn that notch of team voice on defense.

He is respected but that step is still needed and he has yet to earn that fully. I presented a good reference group to be able to compare with and a yard stick on how to judge this final step, without which the Dallas defense will end up failing. Yea, I said fail, because they can't take the full benefit into battle. Not renaming something to hide or not show reverenced glory to until the team benefits from battle tested results. Not just a single persons blinding some's eyes.

That is the reality of it and no blimish upon a player himself. The defense has to reflect his growth as a leader. No way around that point as in football, you have to win it. Teams have to give and take some, but the great ones are able to dominate and inflect upon another team. The Cowboys are now dependent upon Parcels for unit direction.

Oh, he's going NOWHERE. Jerry has already put his mark on this gamble. Bet it!

Myself, I'm looking for wood chips flying, but the fact is that he has some more to add to his game. That is no insult, just the way the sport is at it's core...new fangled or not.

There are some pretty good teams now. To beat them, and Dallas is among the stronger teams in the NFC, it has to itself dominate. That requires Parsons taking the reigns which requires further growth on his part.

That was the purpose of my OP. I still will offer blame until he becomes that leader, forged in fire, that I want to see him become.

That is just the truth of it, not an insult. It all is on his and his teammate's shoulders. COWBOYS!

I want to see him truly become all that he can become and will compare him to what he can become, and blame him when he pulls up short until he is steel and the Cowboys are top winners again!

It was a joke. And yes I have. I’m a recovering addict. And proud
God bless you my friend! I had an additional job in an armor unit as drug and alcohol advisor. My wife and I sent our son to Lincoln Trails twice on recovery. I originally was MHMR the first year it was in existence here, as a house parent ...attending college. I kept an ex-wife on a methodone program until she cleared. I didn't participate, but was supportive throughout the challenges. She would grab the steering wheel while I was driving and attempt to wreck us...

That is as tough a road as a person can travel. Keep it up and keep the faith. I walk it with you and again, God bless!

Defense instantly got better the minute he stepped on the field as a rookie, so the reflection is clear to me. Here are my battle test results. Dak sucks in the playoffs. Until that gets fixed by removing the problem, this team goes nowhere. Defense "without Micah as their leader" (whatever) has played good enough to beat the 49ers 2 years in a row. QB has not. Dak has no final step. We have seen all his steps. Time is past due for him to get to stepping.

Not sure what Bill Parcells has to do with any of this.

Parsons has 2 years under his belt and ur whipping him for not being Ray Lewis or LT? He is the best player on the team, and tops in the NFL.
How many years does Dak get to take the reigns and Dominate? Does he have no such requirement? When will he be the best at something?

How long does Dak get to live in the forge? Hardened Steel? Dak should be Titanium or Gorico Triple Platinum by now as long as he been roasting in the fire.

Parcells was where the break on reliance on a head coach to run the team returned from back when Jimmy was the role model.

Jerry reset the mangement slate and the current staff has once again returned...do a little thought application as well. Jerry's team is fully now current.

For a fact, three seasons ago, Dallas was losing a lot...improvement from then is self evident. Adding one more talented player improved.

When quoting another's post, stick to referencing what HE posted. It's not your place to change his statement to suit a personal and desired response. Stick to what was said.

Straight to the reason then, and quit skipping around nit picking and ignoring the reason. Parsons is a pretty good, not best player in the NFL right now, right? Even with that on the table, he has not proven to be the sole directing force in this current defense, here, playing around with supportive aspects ignores the strength of what IS being stated. Parsons does not yet have this defense attacking around his leadership. No, he doesn't yet. He is a key part, but Parsons has to grow further and also improve his positional dominance. No, that isn't just an out of bounds consideration. It's not explained away by some of the job is tough or puts him at a disadvantage, that comes with his mission.

Parsons is merely being held up to a proven standard in the NFL. The off season isn't time for the pom poms to come out, but evaluating to where the team really needs to be. This defense needs Parsons to be the tough leader of it's defense and it's face. He's not yet there, and that has to be done the old fashioned way...he has to earn it first. That is reflected on the field by a dominant defense, not a high light film.

This defense is capable of holding all opponents to 19 points a game against any team. That is a Championship level.

This offense is capable of averaging 29+ points a game against any opponent. That is a Championship level as well.

I don't listen to whipping dog set of excuses for not winning with those credentials ... upon Jerry Jones or Dak Prescott. There is definite growth in team management, coaching, team consistency with two consecutive 12 win seasons and third on the way. I'm not about to resign myself to crying in my beer or even a row of shots of Don Padron.

Right now, Parson needs to be the defense's head, and I'm going to hold him to his place.

McCarthy has his team in hand, but the job is the players. I'm not crying about turning point mistakes that didn't belong to just one person against San Francisco. I'm not into labeling failure on a team loss.

I'm not about to place blame on Jerry, when a leader such as Parsons or Prescott is the true leader on the carpet...but I am going to hold both accountable for holding the standard on leadership, with both of those two groups!

The game on the field is still what counts, not a particular sports review or parade after.

Pretty good post as well as observation. Time fills as well as skills are expanded and teams grow.
Thank you, very kind. I do have a social media opinion and sometimes wish players would avoid Tweeting everything, but when I grew up I didn't have that. Some young guys are quiet though.
