But there wasn't that guy where they were picking in this draft, not a DE either. They went next best thing with a tackling machine MLB.

They did address the DT position and I think Quinn pretty much knows his DT's are responsible for keeping the interior lineman off his MLB.

One thing for sure, neither of those CB's were going to fix the run D.

But in the end after our alleged targeted CB’s were taken we took the most talented defensive player on the board which was a solid pick for a team focused on defense in draft.

Their attempt after the Ram playoff debacle was Hill and it was pathetic. This coaching staff has at least made it a point to get better in comparison to that with Gallimore, Osa, Bohanna etc and a beast of a LB who can plug a hole and shed blocks!

I agree. I think Surtain was their guy. But the package of Parsons and the extra pick was a great consolation prize.

It is not a very important point, I agree, it's done. But, as a Booger basher, I immediately discounted what he said after the draft as his usual BS but if I now believe he was telling the truth, I must set the record straight. That's why I started this thread.

Weren't realized? The draft has to unfold with many different possibilities. There's nothing set in stone no matter who they wanted. That's how it is every year. 32 teams making moves. No intention is a lock.. ever. So like I said, zero reason to lie about it. They said Parsons was higher on their board than either corner.

The run D was the goal, CB's do not fix that and neither of those two were known for tackling in college.

If I am going to call BS, which is basically calling him a liar, and then I come to believe him, I felt it necessary to right my wrong. I could be wrong now but this is what I believe.

Actually I did cut him some slack by stating it was a solid move after the fact the two targeted CB’s were selected right in front of us .

I do not expect anything. I believe him, I don't care what anyone else believes.

I did not believe him at first and said so and after thinking about it, made sense to me. Bad run D and Parsons is considered a tackling machine, set the record at Penn St., pretty fair LB school, and there wasn't a run stopping DL at that draft level. I also think Quinn thinks he might be his Bobby Wagner.
