I am one of Dak’s biggest backers on this board. Since day 1. He was terrible yesterday. Part on him. Part on Moore. Part on the OL. Part on the WR drops. He was terrible though.

I think he read his news clippings, then came down to earth. He certainly was not up and about rallying the troops like he does when the team is winning, this time he just sat there, dejected for some reason.

Nobody here hates Dak.

Nobody here wants him to fail. If he fails we fail. Some of us just want to see winning football. However anytime we call Dak out, people come out of the woodwork to call us stupid or whatever. We are realists. I am going to judge my QB after a win AND after a loss. He got payed and part of the job is having fans saying what they think even if the team doesn't care.

If we win next week? I'll be all for dak. However yesterday? He **** the bed. I don't get why this is an argument

This has been a real issue with Dak, he has issues beating teams that the Boys are heavy favorites over. I realize this was a team beating that Denver handed out, it appeared that everyone was flat for some reason. But when Dak had opportunities to connect on passes he couldn't get it done.

I only been here for a few years, but I did praise his personality in one of my comment. I like the fact that Dak is a hard worker and is improving. That he did not stop working after he got paid. Also the fact that he is a good leader.

I also once said to his defense, that Dak has never had a good coach (probably not on this forum though).

I don't hate Dak, I just don't want him to be the QB of the Cowboys. Now if we reach an NFCCG or the SB, my feeling on Dak would change, but until then.....

It's not an argument.. We all watched the game.. so we know he played like **** yesterday. However he was hardly alone.. Conservatively I would say the drops cost him at least 60 yards yesterday and every one of them would have resulted in a first down so those drives would have continued and maybe given the team a shot in the arm.. Dak included. Dak also had nothing to do with the defense getting run over or allowing Tim Patrick (who?) to look like Megatron.. Where people are at odds with you "realists" is when you attempt to hang that entire putrid team performance around Dak's neck or act as if after balling out really for the last 10 or 11 games dating back to last year THIS ONE is the game that shows "the real him." Dak has put up a 100+ passer rating in 7 of the last 11 games he has started and finished .. He has been over 90 in 9 of those.. Sorry but that's great QB play.. So YES he played like absolute horse crap yesterday.. But this is not his norm .. so any attempt to come with a "see I told ya this is who he is" is bound to be met with appropriate derision. But not to worry.. Dak will probably get back to being a 110 passer rating QB next week and all you "realists" will have to crawl back into the woodwork.

There are people that clearly hate Dak. So your realist position started off a little sketchy to begin with.

Then you went on to say nobody wants him to fail. But that, too, is incorrect. There are people on this board that stake their - claim, football knowledge, reputations - on the failure of Dak Prescott.

This is not about calling Dak out for some. This is about investing several seasons lambasting Dak. And when this season arrived and he had a string of good games, and this team played well, they - those who have made a living despising Dak - were pinned to the mat for a three count on their assaults on Prescott.

And....his pay has nothing to do with it. That seems to stick in the craw of so many here. Dak did not set the pay structure of QB's in this league. Every player is over paid.

Further, fans have no stake in this team other than bragging rights. We do not have a hand in the success nor failure of this franchise. But you wouldn't know that as many people say "We," when speaking about the team like they have a jersey with their name on it hanging in the locker room.

And even then fandom does not lend itself to insults by people with agendas to make themselves look good.

I dare say not many of us, if any of us, have a relationship with any player or coach. The vitriol is mere spite for hurt feelings when the team, coach, or player does not live up to expectation placed on them by fans.

He had a bad game yesterday. Does that now diminish the good games he's had this season? Does one game justify the malevolence hurled at a guy none of us know personally?

To some here it is celebration time because they have married themselves with the spite hurled at Dak.

I have been a fan since 1960. I have seen good, bad, great, and terrible. One thing I know is the team will forever fall short sometimes and exceed expectations other times. And in the bad times, the other team, more than not, outplayed the Cowboys.

I find it hilarious that a $40 million a year QB needs praising. When he makes that kind of money, outstanding play each and every game should not praised, it is expected. That contract eliminates the excuses that has been used over the last few years. I am not singling our Dak because DLaw, Cooper and Zeke signed contracts that eliminated excuses for poor play. If they can’t handle the pressure of playing up to their level of play, they didn’t deserve the contracts to start with.

No matter what they are paid, they are still human and thus will never be exempt from having bad days.

I think he was just coming back from
an injury. His coaches and teammates all stunk. I don’t see it going to his head. He was just bad. Denver played great as well.

I think he is trying to get back into the game, especially after the Cooper to Cooper game. His head is spinning right now it looks like.
