The udfa fullback from division 2 is probably a better option at this point.

Only way he's on the roster is if Jerry Jones' nostalgia for him overrides McCarthy's common sense.

Rather trade for Henry and force Tenn to pay some of his contract. Henry and TP would be a crazy 1-2 punch and MM swears he want to run the ball more.

I think Zeke is the best option right now.
There are no other RB's out there, unless they trade for Henry. But then his contract is not conducive to do so.

Zeke can come in and be productive if the utilize him better. They can have a package of plays, even if he just is in for pass protection, or FB role, as well get his shares of touches.
If they keep the FB they just brought in as well. Need a yard or 2 or 3 for a 1st down, now you have options. Who gets the ball, run or pass. Dak is protected, or they have the blocking to get those yards. Heck that would be a great time to hand off to Deuce, OL opens a hole, gets some FB blocks, and he is gone.
I think if they bring him in it won't be until tc. Jerry said no decision has been made. I'm willing to bet they love for Luepke to be able. To fill that role

I honestly am not cutting any of the young dudes for him. And if they went out and signed RoJo then they believe he’s capable of being in the rotation.

I’m just not cutting young fresh legs for duties a fullback can handle. Hoping Luepke is who he seems to be and we can put this fetish for a short yardage back to rest.

Replacing 800 rush yards is possible with a combo of the guys we have. And honestly they could get there on fewer carries with a higher YPC.

Time to move on, in my opinion.

Pollard doesn't need Zeke hover over him...
Davis can spell pollard and Lupke can cover short yardage. He can hit the hole quicker than Zeke lol
Love Zeke but it’s time to move on and with the miles on his body as well as the fact he just has no quickness anymore he should retire while he still has the health to enjoy his later years in life

I know a little football and I think Zeke can still serve a purpose. With a good contract and a new direction, he can really help.
At this stage, I see him as a great short yard, tough runner...which we don't have....I also see him as an HBack type player...he's a good blocker...part time fullback and he can actually line up on the flex TE position....he had great hands.....I'd love this role for him.....my bud @CowboyRoy is gonna kill me, but that's my take.
The guy is shot. Davis would be as productive this year.

People need to realize he's done. Maybe a year off would do him wonders.

He's a short yardage 1 down back that can be found dirt cheap anywhere. Even his blocking was on a decline last year and worse then Pollards.

Some team will pick him for for vet min during the season imo

As soon as Pollard got hurt in the playoff game our chances went to zero to win. So no, Zeke is past it. He's made his money, good for him, but he shows nothing now that we can't get from any other cheap RB, other than pass protection.

My question is will they (Jones, whoever) feel the need to start featuring Zeke more than something outside the role you detailed? Will Dak start trying to lobby for him more?

I dunno. On a dirt cheap contract, I kinda get it. But can they keep the emotions/jersey sales infatuation in check?

The fullback that they signed has experience at tailback. He is younger, stronger and his legs are not dead.
I'm sure against that level of competition he has great legs....but I just don't see that guy making it to game day.

My thing is how someone would want to go with Luepke, Zeke, Vaughn and Pollard, thats basically 2 fullbacks, a "gadget" guy and Pollard.

Well 31 other teams don't. But heck, why not keep a fat running back on the downside of his career.
