I would not start Dak against Philly

I'd might dress him but I wouldn't start him. If Dak goes in there and he's rusty and throws 2 picks and Dallas gets rolled next week. It won't be good for him.
I would start Cooper Rush until he loses. That will slow down the QB controversy thing that the media is trying to push right now.
Why are they paying this guy ?

Dak scored 50 points on the Eagles last time they played. I'd start Dak!

Against a team of basically 3rd stringers... yeah, that counts. He could probably put up 50 versus high schoolers too. Would that matter?

Dak wasn't rusty and coming off an injury versus the Eagles that game either. He should sit for the Eagles game, get an extra week of practice, and play the next game.

DAK WON’T BE 100% UNLESS HE SLINGS IT AROUND PRACTICE THE ENTIRE WEEK PRECEDING THE GAME.

You seem to be saying, ‘Dak doesn’t need practice reps. If his body is 100%, it doesn’t matter if he has thrown the ball to his receivers during practice.’

If that’s what you’re saying, it’s hogwash. You said you played rugby. I know that tackling someone is very different than throwing dimes on timing routes to receivers that are 15-25 yards away.

I’m all Dak, all the time if he’s ready. I don’t know if it’s the offense as a whole or a Rush-led offense, but this anemic offensive production isn’t a formulae for sustained success. We saw Parsons get hurt yesterday. Thankfully, he could still rush the passer and hopefully he doesn’t miss time. But imagine Parsons missing a game a DLaw getting dinged and all of the sudden we need points on the board because we can’t pressure the QB. Rush has already shown us he isn’t that guy. Dak has a vault of film showing us he can score points.

Put a healthy Dak on the field with this defense and we’ll crush teams.

Well obviously they wouldnt make a decision on a Friday with no practice, but i'd question what's adequate preparation.....he went through pre-season with only practice behind him and look what happened against the Bucc's. So I suppose it'll be best all round if we leave Rush in for the Eagles.

Are you going to be ok as well? Going to need a hug soon once Dak starts and stays?
:lmao:
I can't wait until Dak is fully recovered and mentally ready to go back to being our forty-million-dollar man. I know that wasn't representative of Dak, how he played in week 1. But he needs to be protected from himself and his ego. Mike McCarthy has said Dak needs to be a full participant in a week's worth of practice before he is allowed to return as our starting QB. At today's press conference Mike was asked about Dak's progress and replied nothing has changed. So I don't expect Dak to play in Philly. But the next couple of games are home games against the Lions and Bears... these look like the perfect targets where Dak could look to start.

That was my only point. Adequate preparation to me (I thought I said this….maybe not) is going through an entire week of practice. He’s getting his hand examined every Tuesday, so I think they can give him the all clear tomorrow and he can get a week’s worth of practice in. Then it’s up to the coaches to see if he’s having any timing issues during practice. We’ll never know what they REALLY think, but that’s all we have as fans.

Should he start against the Eagles if he gets the all clear tomorrow? I’d say it’s impossible for a fan to have that answer. We aren’t there comparing his reps against both what he looked like in practice before the injury and how he looks compared to Rush in practice.

It’s easy (and lazy) to say, ‘Give it to Rush until he loses’ (not that you said that, but others have). I say put the guy that gives the team the best chance of winning in the game. That’s going to be Dak at 100% (maybe Dak at 80%….idk).

Yeah if Dak looks bad and we lose it's frustrating, but if Cooper looks good and we win Dak won't be getting the job back for awhile.

Mr. DandyDon52. I will give you a free lesson in football.

In general, the more points you score, the more likely it is you will win.

not much of a lesson lol, just a oddball stat covering 5 decades lol.
winning by 30 is not better than winning by 3, it is the same thing.

sure he will, jones boys will install dak back whenever they feel like it.
Does not matter how many games rush wins.

I am in favor of rush finishing the season, but if they are going to just put dak back in, I say do it with this eagles game.

Surely, that's the whole point of this thread, surmising whether Dak plays against the Eagles if he's fit.

I agree that as soon as Dak's fit he should play over Rush (yep, ive never been one of those that says it's Rush's job to lose), the disagreement is on how much preparation he needs to give better production than Rush.

Now if certain fans quote the lackluster Offensive numbers in the Rams game (surely by design with only 16 attempts) then Dak should be able to improve on that, provided he is able to grip and throw. As you say this is about winning a game and it happens to be our biggest threat....if this was the Lion's up next i'd be holding Dak back, but it's not and we can't afford to hold players back in case of re-injury.
