Im just not an advocate of losing for a higher draft pick.

Theres no guarantee who we’d get. And the potential for a carryover into next season lingers . With a strong finish potentially brings a boost at least mentally versus continued losing.

Im just not sold losing in any fashion is good for a program. Even in meaningless games . I guess it might be different if I didn’t watch them all.
Uhhh, because drafting in the top 10 allows you to either get a top athlete in each round... or you can trade down into the mid-to-late teens or even early 20s while picking up an extra later round or two picks (which we badly need since Jerry already traded away our early 4th and 6th round picks for nothing in return).

It's not hard to understand which is the better route to take to rebuild through the draft.

IF they are going to target a QB with the first round pick than yes tank.
Sorry, only 2 QBs worthy of taking in the 1st round. Both are being taken in the top 5 overall picks. Too costly for the Cowboys. Sorry to burst your Dak hating bubble. There are several other positions in need that should be addressed early in each round.

They should have been losing and playing young guys only weeks ago instead of having this delusion that the team is good...all winning does is further cement the same ole'

Should they tank (lose out) and secure a higher draft pick for next year's draft?

I mean, if the Cowboys lose to the Bengals, they would be at 5 - 8 with only 4 games left in the season. A loss on Monday Night against the Bengals would pretty much eliminate our Cowboys from reaching the playoffs, so why not lose out and secure a much higher draft pick?

What say you?
they will not tank. rush will play. MM will have them play hard....it would be meaningless.....

if we lose to bengals then we have a 50/50 chance against panthers who have been playing better and the last three are probably losses.

If I ever feel like the Dallas Cowboys are deliberately trying to lose a game then I am done with them. I could never watch them again.

If any player is not trying to win then they are not competing and I don't want them on the team nor do I want a team that tolerates such players.

There isn't a coach worth a dime that deliberately tries to lose a game.

How can any other coach, player or even fan ever trust, follow, and respect someone who didn't try their best in the hopes of a potential advantage the next season. There should be no "next season" for them.

It's one thing for a terrible team to lose because they simply don't have the ability to defeat their opponent. At least they tried their best. I would prefer that to a better team that didn't try.

A team like that is attempting to cheat the system by cheating the fans.
I take it you don’t watch the NBA, there is blatant tanking in that league.

If (when) Dallas is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, they should use the rest of the season to evaluate their depth chart, including starting Lance.

Dak isn't going anywhere, but it would be nice to build some trade value with Lance if he were to be somewhat successful.

Issue is you dont control Lance after this season so you cant trade him. I'm not against getting him a few starts if the Cowboys lose this week, but all youre really doing is letting him audition for other teams. If he gets really hot maybe you bump his stock enough to get a comp pick if they skip over free agency again.

I would have started 2 games ago because Jerry makes too much of wins that don't mean much. I'd rather draft high and try and rebuild than get close to .500, miss the playoffs and pick 17

My mistake. I had thought he was under contract next year.

But that’s assuming we’d utilize those higher picks well. Sorry but I’m always going to root for us to win.

I believe it builds more momentum moving forward. We’ve seen time and time again teams finishing strong often carry’s over.

If teams truly believed tanking for draft picks was more beneficial overall we’d see more teams follow suit. But generally we don’t see that as teams are still fighting hard to win.

Now if losing turns out to be beneficial then that’s fine, we’ll take it as some consolation.

So , what aren’t the Panthers tanking. The list goes on.

There’s a reason teams don’t tank.

I would so smoke you so badly whether it comes to building a team or a game of poker. It's not even funny.
But you like losing by your own post, so I already won. You can’t help it you just have the loser mentality built in. Find a new team loser

Booger is a Karen. He will continue the same dumbness no matter how dumb it is.

I saw Karen in the bank this morning at the ATM. I was standing off to the side when she inserted her card, punched in some digits and could read the part of the screen that read, "over your maximum."

She concluded her transaction, took her card, and immediately reinserted it. Again, the screen read, "over your maximum "

A third time, then a fourth, she went through the same routine and was denied each time.

A teller waved me to the counter, concluded my transaction, and I was leaving while Karen argued with the ATM.

That's the way Booger works.

Regardless if they lose they won’t tank. McCarthy is fighting for his job along with some players.

I would play some of the back ups and younger players to give them experience and see what they offer.

To be honest this team is bad enough that they're probably only going to win 1 or 2 more games all year anyway.

The tank will happen organically.

Do they?

How do you tank an 82 game season? How many games can you deliberately lose to get the #1, #2, or #3 pick when there is a lottery?

I know they give some players a game off but I don't consider it tanking. In many cases it is prudent to do so considering the length of the season and the wear it puts on veteran players.
