It's kind of silly to make this notion when we could of had a guy like Chris Johnson or Stephen Jackson. Our scouting department has come up short more than it has hit on a lot of times. Marty B is a prime example of this and not trading him for a first round draft pick was simply idiotic. Some fans also wanted Desean Jackson, Steve Smith and various other players that are putting up ridic numbers also. So it's not oh X player is bust ahahhahh.
Honestly, though HoS I really want to here your honest opinion about what you would of done different. I mean you make this thread calling fans out that make wild post. Yet you don't really post your thoughts. I mean you campaigned hard for RW thus far he hasn't lived up to the trade hype. So instead of playing the role that you normally play of not getting into it. I want to hear you say what moves you would of made. How this team makes you feel. If Wade Phillips was your coach of choice. Things along that nature. If you don't want to post it on the board for whatever reason then by all means PM. I wouldn't mind having you drop some knowledge.
I can understand where you're coming from as I was a HUGE Steve Smith fan when he was coming out of USC. I was sick to my stomach when he got drafted by the Giants cause I had him pegged as a real good player. He's turned out to be exactly what I thought he could be.
I admit, fully, that I missed on DeSean Jackson cause I honestly didn't think he'd be able to take the beating at the NFL level. He has proved me entirely wrong. Great playmaker.
And I loved Chris Johnson (Till people convinced me he'd have a fumbling problem in the NFL and then I decided I liked the idea of Jones better) but heres the thing on Johnson that everyone, yourself and all the others who love him so much, seem to forget.
What Johnson is doing in Tennessee is because he's the primary, every down, back. He's the guy who carries the load. Even last year when he split time with White he still got the majority.
Here he'd be doing exactly what Felix is doing. Getting 5-8 touches a game, if he's lucky, and he wouldn't be putting up near the numbers here, that he is there, and then Felix would be there putting up bigger numbers cause he's the main guy and everyone would be *****ing and moaning that we passed on Felix for Johnson and what a stupid move it was.
The lack of big plays and chances for Felix has a whole heck of a lot to do with the fact that they don't give him the ball nearly enough.
You put Chris Johnson on this team, give him only 4-5 carries a game, with the defense keying on the fact that he's your most explosive player, and he's going to put up exactly what Felix is cause he's not getting enough chances to break plays wide open like he does in Tennessee.
I love Chris Johnson. He's turned out to be exactly what I thought he could be predraft, and even more since I was worried about him having a fumbling issue I allowed myself to be convinced he would have and he's having zero issues with that.
But he wouldn't be the Chris Johnson you see every week in Tennessee if he were here in Dallas.
