I will be a fan no matter what happens.
I’ll be disappointed. I’ll have some choice words, but I’ll be back.
I will be a fan no matter what happens.
This became a pretty heated debate at my family's Thanksgiving table last night, for a large family of Cowboys fans who live in New York but whose grandparents were all Cowboys fans (who also never lived in Texas). Heck I've been such a die-hard fan that I signed up for this forum at 13 / 14 years old.
There were of course the typical aspects of any Thanksgiving conversation that came up - including race, politics, etc; that are not appropriate for this board.
but on pure football this is where I stand -
Dak was on track for nearly 7,000 yards. He is a proven starter who has been top 12 in each of his seasons, and would be in the MVP conversation right now if he continued playing as he was.
This team went from an offense that simply couldn't be stopped to an offense that simply can't do anything with only 1 man changing.
I will end it with this - Trevor Lawrence may look like the best prospect since Andrew Luck, but Andrew Luck's career was no where on par with how Dak Prescott's career is slated to go if he continues playing at the level he has thus far performed at.
Dak Prescott is young and proven. Give me the proven QB. With how Dak has performed and this franchise is operating, if Dak is not under center because the franchise didn't do right by him, I will become a fan of whatever team he goes it.
Joe Montana completed 52% of his passes and had 25 TD's and 25 INT's in 3 ho-hum years at Notre Dame. Care to remember what he accomplished in the NFL?there are 10s of others.......Lawrence is not manning nor luck....he is flawed.
Which is why the bogans who run this place are idiots. "No QB in the draft no matter what." SMH~~~~~Paying Dak what he wants will doom this team to mediocrity for the next 5-10 years....but he'll make history in the stats and still be 8-8 every year.Lawrence is considered the best QB to come out since Andrew Luck.
Every top QB prospect plays on very good to great teams.
he wasn't the first over all pick. Brady didn't accomplish much in college...went 6th round.Joe Montana completed 52% of his passes and had 25 TD's and 25 INT's in 3 ho-hum years at Notre Dame. Care to remember what he accomplished in the NFL?
Dak is a good QB , but what do you mean by sure thing exactly .?Dak is a sure thing, and if Trevor gets to Dak's level he will be defying the odds and realistic expectations.
Nope. Not at all. I'm just saying that there are many other characteristics to consider when drafting a QB or any other player for that matter. Lawrence is a proven winner in college. That's a given. He can be elite in the NFL if he's drafted by the right team for him, and them. I'm not trying to argue with you or disagree for the sake of disagreeing but, we need to do something different than what we've been doing because what we've been doing is not working. I know as well as you probably do that the draft is a great big crap-shoot. If we can parlay Dak for defensive help and/or draft picks I'd do it and draft the best QB available and go from there. No defense, no championships.he wasn't the first over all pick. Brady didn't accomplish much in college...went 6th round.
not sure what's your point. you seem to indicate you think Lawrence is a 100% gauaranteed QB that will succeed and lead teams to championships in the NFL....is that it?

there are and have been many proven winners in college. Ryan Leaf was a proven winner in college. Jamies Winston was a proven winner in college. the list is long.....but lately, based on some people's analysis of his game, there are a lot of flaws to be concerned about. he can be elite. there is also a chance he can be average and fail in the NFL.Nope. Don’t worry.. The Jones’s see things your way and your way is the path to keeping the team mediocre.
The passing yards argument is so bad.. Like so so bad. Yards usually come with volume of throws.. Jameis Winston lead the league in yards a year ago. It’s fools gold.
Not this time and even Tad his brother was up in arms on Twitter.
Yes, he is the worse GM in the NFL for 26 years running but not even Jones is that STUPID on this one.
Hope stems from the fact he didn't get the deal the last 2 years and after his gimp status and a limited Cap no way it becomes a reality now!
Does dak have a high ceiling?Dak is good for business.
He has a high ceiling and is a good player.
He’s also all over TV doing commercials constantly and represents the franchise well.
All those things will certainly make the Jones’s settle.
They’ll receive too much media backlash and criticism from part of their fan base if they made a move.
Like the Zeke deal.. Eventually they will do the deal and everyone will applaud it just like they did with Zeke.
We will then be locked into mediocrity for awhile and have maybe a 1 year window to win when Dak’s contract isn’t so bad and all the rookies that have been our only real upgrades start to become vets. (Assuming we hit on our picks)
