I think Brandon Carr is bigger. Obviously, not as fast. I think it's funny that this guy can cover Megatron without even stepping on the field in the NFL.

I honestly wasn't expecting a DE in the 1st round anyway. I think we can get the same level of talent in the 3rd or 4th in Frank Clark that we could have gotten at 27. And although I wanted Malcolm Brown, I never expected us to take him. I think we're more likely to get a guy like Grady Jarrett in the 2nd. One thing I do like about the Byron Jones pick is his versatility. If we lose Carr and Claiborne continues to suck, we'll desperately need CB help this year. But if those guys play well, we'll have the luxury of trying Jones out at FS. I didn't want to get Damarious Randell in the 1st because I didn't think he was a 1st round talent, but I was happy to hear that we were finally looking at guys who can play FS. I still want to see what we do tomorrow. I wish we had more picks because there are so many intriguing guys in rounds 2-3.

It was a good start but that did not fill the biggest defensive need for our team. The pass rush isn't fixed.

We already know he can play FS.
1 yr at CB and pretty good at it already so he will improve by picking up better techniques. Good upside and high floor. Not bad.

Also this give us leverage with Carr in June in negotiations. I like to keep Carr but at this count but if we have to we can cut him.

Pull up the game tape of Dallas playing Detroit on October 27, 2013. Megatron caught 14 passes for 329 because we didn't have a CB with any size that could cover a big WR. Brandon Carr had PTSD after that game for several weeks and it visibly affected his confidence.

Dallas filled its biggest defensive need a month ago when it signed Greg Hardy. Jones may not start right away, but when he does he solves our second biggest defensive need by giving the team a big CB who can cover the big WRs in the NFL.
