Is it actually dangerous to wear Cowboy's gear to the Linc?

Just a fact of life, philly is no better or worse than any other major market team.

Guess it depends on what is considered a "major market team" but I have been to Cowboys games in DC, Philly, Carolina (playoff game) and Dallas. The atmosphere is Philly was by far and away the most hostile.

I'm not sure I can agree with that. I've been to: Sf, Seattle, Sd, and St. Louis, and never had any thing close to a problem. In fact, I got major props in Seattle (we lost) for charging up a Cowboys fan leaving early with his jersey turned inside out. Taking it off to avoid the crap - talking is one thing. That really pissed me off. The Rams fans were very cool, and we even moved down to the front and nobody said a word. Sd was a little rowdy, but I was with over 50 people. Even by myself, it would have been fine.

Has anybody done this? What are your experiences? I am going to the game on Sunday and was thinking of wearing my Dez jersey.

I think you will take more punishment for wearing a Dez jersey only because he is hurt and they will mock you. If he was playing you could wear it proud and say take that Maxwell!!!!

I went to a game at the Vet ages ago wearing a blue tshirt and a cowboy hat. It didn't sit too well with them, especially since we won. It wasn't terrifying (I'm a pretty big dude, had some other big guys there too), but I'll say it's not worth it. The biggest issue was not being able to focus on the game - it was a constant barrage of screaming, being hit by liquids, plastic bottles, etc. We got threatened a few times but it was always by a few guys who were way too drunk and entirely too small to be wanting to fight a bunch of huge guys. The parking lot was actually less of an issue that day - we walked quietly through and no one said anything really.

I live in Maryland so Philly's only a 2-2 1/2 hour drive...never been to Philly for a game.

Seriously thought about getting tickets this weekend but I've heard so many stories it's just not worth it to me, unless your in a suite or very close to field level.

They will be so mad when they start 0-2 that some idiot may put someone's life in danger.

Even though it would be a mess, I'd like to go to a Cowboy's game in Philadelphia. Maybe get my brother and a couple of my buddies to go. I know it would probably be hell but I'd like to do it.

The Linc is nowhere near what the Vet used to be. It's actually fairly tame. And of course it depends where you sit. If you're in the lower level you should be fine as long as you can take some yelling and name calling and keep walking. In the upper levels you could potentially get in a bad section, but that would just be luck of the draw.

In reality People just love to perpetuate the philly stereotype though. There will always be drunk idiots at any football stadium that will give the opposing fans a hard time. Just a fact of life, philly is no better or worse than any other major market team.

Do you live in Philly or were you from there?
Those comments sounds like maybe that's a yes?

Didn't the old stadium actually have it's own jailhouse?

Over the years, I've known plenty of people that went to Philly games and some that were die-hard fans of 30 years....they all say that it's worse there than average.

Just don't provoke anyone and you'll be fine. The worst part will be walking to your seat before the game. You'll be surrounded by swarms of Eagles fans who'll be talking s**t. But that won't be the case after the game... they'll be too depressed to even think about messing with you.

Philly is one of the places you can go, keep to yourself and still get messed with. Personal safety isnt an issue unless you are dumb, but there is a real possibility of having something spilled on you or something.

I live in NJ about 40 mins away from the Eagles stadium. Been to 2 games, 1 Cowboys and 1 non...really not that bad. Idk, maybe it's because I'm from the area and already know what to expect, but I can't say I've ever really felt unsafe in anyway. Of course there will be idiots, but again, that's everywhere.

I do too. I know a LOT of Cowboys fans, including 3 different fan clubs. We've discussed a philly invasion. We would have a group of 10 at minimum.

Lol letting the hype get to you? You are going to be okay don't let people scare you I assume you are grown chances of so trying happening to you are small. I always goto the games wearing Dallas gear and even ride the train to the stadium nobody says nothing. Its just light smack all busting that's it.

Yeah I'm in Philly and definitely agree. Its weird honestly seeing mainly I'm assuming grown men act like they going to get beat up on sight for wearing a Cowboys jersey. Its idiots at every stadium but never have I felt scarred to not wear my cowboys gear or not talk to fans.

In my experience, it's sort of the opposite. Yeah, you get some jawing going to your seat. I think the worst part is going to the bathroom and after the game, especially if Dallas wins. Wear your big boy pants to the bathroom, because most people in there are recycling beer. I thought for sure one time I was gonna get into a nice little scrap in the bathroom, but just stay cool and stand your ground, but don't be a tough guy with bravado. Keep a sense of humor and some thick skin and respect that you are in their home. Don't be the idiot that feeds their hatred.
