It’s fascinating how hard the Eagles try and hide Hurts’ deficiencies

They're 6-0...I'd say that it is working. They also can damn near run at will against an opponent.
We had a rough time stopping their run game.

That's the thing. The college offense will work with the right personnel. That offense is Jalen Hurts specific. We saw something similar with the 2019 Ravens. I think they won 14 games. Titans stopped their run game in the playoffs and that's all she wrote.

the eagles were crushing the cowboys before lane johnson got hurt....LJ will be back for december and hurts is good could become great later on or at worst in 1-2 years. the eagles shoulda won by double digits easily

Now don’t get me wrong they are pretty good at it thus far, but the amount of smoke and mirrors and lengths they go to to avoid putting him in anything remotely resembling an obvious drop back passing situation is crazy. Even Baltimore didn’t do it to this degree with Lamar in his first full year.

He had 34 drop backs tonight and only on NINE did he not have a designed RPO, roll out or a single read quick hitter. On two of those he was sacked and on three more he scrambled. He threw the ball FOUR TIMES on traditional drop backs and had two completions.

I’ve never seen anything like it. It looks like a college offense. This is not sustainable.
Well, they certainly don't want to magnify his limitations...
Good coaching brings out your best, and not your worst.

Which has nothing to do with your initial claim.
The Eagles drove down the field enroute to their final TD to widen the lead. Our defense couldn't stop them when we needed a stop. That makes my claim valid. They were able to run the ball when they needed to. Did you watch the game?

So in other words, coaching towards a player's strength in order to get him and the team to succeed?

Isn't that the whole point of quality coaching?

Don't fall for the boxscore analysis.

A great defense doesn't allow a game ending drive where a team just lines up and grinds you into the turf. This defense is not a very good run defense and that's been exposed time and time again. San Fran exploited it in the playoffs. We are built a certain way and the front office sees little value in elite level DT play. It is what it is.

We are a team built to get a lead and then let our front seven quickness wreak havoc on OLs and QBs. We are not a team built to try to come back and have to stop a team in the 4th Q from grinding our butts into the turf with their running game.

I was literally telling an eagles fan this earlier today. This offense is not sustainable and the OP is absolutely spot on. They do everything in their power to hide Hurts. Eventually hurts is going to have to win games on his own. He won’t be able to do it.

That’s literally what good teams do. Game plan around your talent and the opponent.

If course you wouldn’t know anything about that being a Cowboys fan.

They did a great job at it. That's why this one is on the coaches.

The players did all they could have done, outside of Rush's few INTs.

I could 100% do without those unsportsmanlike penalties.

This post is so cringe.

The Eagles are 6-0.

Call it what you want. I call it results and winning football. It remains to be seen if it will continue to work, but Hurts is an MVP candidate right now and QB for the best team in the league.

Great defenses let bad things happen. I’ve yet to see the perfect defense.

Did you see them stop the Eagles on the previous two possessions so that this is even a discussion? Three consecutive stops is rare against an offense of the Eagles caliber. That’s why you don’t get yourself in twenty point holes.

More often than not a great defense comes up with big 4th down stops, especially when you know the opposition is gonna run it and you still can't stop them.

You guys can continue to delude yourselves into thinking this team has a good run D. They don't. And it will cost us again at some point.

And you can continue to put most blame on the defense because they didn’t hold a good offense scoreless in the second half. It’s still not realistic.

Offensive effectiveness is about 3 major things, and scheme is third most important:

1. execution
2. Personnel
3. Scheme

I’ll take a generic play run perfectly with great personnel over the perfect play run averagely with mediocre personnel every day of the week.

If the offense Philly is running stops working it’s because they didn’t adjust it to how teams are playing them. The RPO has lots of little bells and whistles and can be run many different ways. Chip Kelly ran one with us that was different than the one Doug Pederson runs and neither were doing anything like was Nick Sirianni has us doing.

We have the personnel and we run it pretty well. That’s what’s most important. The 2019 Ravens didn’t have the receiving corps we have to really sell it.
