This was the first game I thought he made a genuine impact play. I hope he comes on in the following weeks. We need him to become something special if this defense is going to be what it needs to be.

Thoughts about his game today?

I agree. And it wasn't just the sack/fumble. He had a hand full of other plays that he made the impact on rather than catching guys.

I said last week he started to show some flashes.

He's getting better at attacking the hole and the ballcarrier along with the blocker.

He still is slow in his back pedal and lateral movement. But he is starting to look like a linebacker when he runs downhill. Hopefully as his leg heals and an offseason of working on his backpedal and lateral movement he may be the MIKE we have been looking for.

YR

He still did a lot of late piling on and definitely looked for someone to block him on one play where they got big yardage. There were some positives though and I do think the rotation of he and Hitchens helps. I just hope Lee didn't reaaggravate the hammy. He looked tentative late before they were able to pull him.

THE J TRAIN - ROFLO

I hope they draft a LBER that is actually healthy

Such sad haters as usual. I don't even know why I'm getting drawn in...

Let's not recognize the great fill and the huge solo stop on the 5 yard line just before the half. If San Fran scores on that run, we go into the locker room up just 20-10 and its another nail biting second half affair.

Instead, thanks to "J-Train" the very next play results in a forced fumbled on the drop back recovered by the Cowboys. Pressure's off and we go into the locker room up 20-3.

But yeah... No big deal.

The way he was used today is how he's going to be most effective - limit him to 15-20 snaps in specific down and distance situations. Very similar to how he was playing in the season opener...with similar results. The speed and coordination will return with more time for healing. The instincts jave always been there...his body just can't keep up yet.

And I hope if Jaylon does become All Pro you have the stones to eat crow.

But I doubt it.

an what id never does any better are you going to eat crow

today was best lber showing we had all year

Jaylon is a hard hitter and his impact will be felt when he decleats people. That's his game..
He's far better next to Lee than not.

He doesn't need to be overexposed and asked to play all game where offenses can attack him in the passing game with quick guys.

People who hated the draft pick at the time are going to hate him now... it's literally stupid.
The same people saying he isn't very good were the ones saying he'd never play again at all.
Anyone who cant root for this guy and cheer his successes sucks at life.

We have to remember not only is he coming back from a devastating injury but he is basically a rookie. I think today's game will help him build confidenceand he reacted much faster today. On the sack i was watching him before the snap and he didn't hesitate. He shot out of a cannon and hit his mark. I think he will continue to get better as the year goes on

This is why I said he should be limited but not completely out of the rotation. That play didn't mean anything in the outcome but it goes to show what he can do.

I'm one of the people who think taking Jaylon was a reasonable risk. I would have preferred we traded back a little and still drafted him but that's the way it goes.

I can't speak for everyone but I would think that most people on this board would like to see him succeed. One thing you can say about him is if he doesn't get there it won't be because of lack of hard work and effort.

On the other hand being critical of his play is reasonable so far. Not everyone who is critical of his play wants to see him fail. In fact I would suggest that that sort of person is in the minority here.

I am sure you are tired of people bashing him but I think criticism of his play so far is reasonable.
