Some posters just desperately need Heath to not be awful.

He is, but their dreams and beliefs need to be justified.

I think Heath gets a bad rap, but there were alot of rookies playing in front of him causing him to overcompensate thus being " out of position ". On the other hand the guy takes terrible angles toward ball carriers which can be fixed. Currently, the LB position has a much more glaring need than the safety position.

If you still hate him then you are just stubborn. I haven’t seen a cowboy safety make this many plays on the ball since......Roy/Woodson. And many of you thought Wilcox bum *** was better just because politics had him starting over Heath. The play in the video with Wilcox trying to take away Heaths interception is fitting. Some of you just hate being wrong. It’s quite sad. Like the guy in the video said, if it’s luck how come Byron rarely gets (lucky)?

The only place heath belongs is on ST, asking us do we want paper/plastic, or biggie fries with that?

Some players are labeled on one play. Romo the botched field goal made him a choker, Heath being trucked by Peterson at the goall line. I don’t think many look past that one play

I never thought he was tricked by Peterson. If another cowboy wouldn’t have come in and hit them I thinkenhenwouldnhave held Peterson

I think most dislike Heath because of Calvin Johnson not Peterson

Heath's has gotten way more hate over the years than Wilcox ever did. Why that is, I don't know, but it blows my mind. He's not the reason our defense gets exploited at times.

My honest opinion of JH. He's ok. He gives good effort and is often in the right place but sometimes just a step behind. He would be awesome if we beefed up the front seven it would allow him to shine the problem is, we seem to be content with Jags in front seven. The D line is looking better but now we need to bolster the LB corps.

The problem with Heath is that he is not instinctive, he is not sudden/twitchy and he looks for the knockout shot, mostly at the detriment of himself and his own players.

He is not a playmaker. He allows the play to come to him. Lacks that aggressive approach.

Instinctual players know when to take a risk. The really good ones have those risks payoff far more often than not.

Heath gets paid at what he's worth. Unfortunately for us, that's not even in the top 50 for all safeties.

I could live with a combination of him and Woods as long as they are paired with someone like Reid or Bates, or best case, James.

He reacts to balls too slowly. There are too many plays where he either stays true centerfield too long and is late getting over to the ball. At other times, he guesses early and wrong, which then makes the read very easy for the opposing quarterback. He does not have good instincts for the position IMO and he's a liability in deep ball coverage. He will occasionally destroy someone about to run out of bounds or find his way to a tipped ball, but not nearly enough to merit the acclaim some fans here are willing to give him. He should not be a starting safety in the NFL and if he remains one for us, will cost us games. If we are serious about contending for a Super Bowl, that position has to be upgraded.

Unless a rookie beats him out he’s starting. I have faith in Xavier Woods. Woods and Heath are starters and I’m fine with that.

He’s a nice 3rd safety. That’s it. This team should upgrade the starting S positions if possible.

Heath is an average to above average starter in this league. He starts on 22 teams is my guess, maybe more. He is so criminally underrated on this board it's comical. He takes bad angles sometimes, but he got so much better at that the second half of the year. But he's smart. Violent. And has a knack for making turnovers. Can't ask for more. We need one starter, and if Frazier keeps progressing, maybe none. Or Woods

If you watch his videos..

he is articulate..

Committed..

and is all for the team.

He is not as effective in pass coverage as you would like.

And he lays wood when he gets in front of you.

You need guys like that.

If the rest of the secondary improves..

there are ways to roll coverage to him.

I think he is sort of a Charlie Waters type.

He got much better at the angles as the year went on. His FIRST YEAR AS A STARTER, mind you. But this board thinks he sucks cause they remember the bad plays. And not the like 20 turnovers he caused in the video, for some reason. In mostly limited playing time

O line needs a big mean dude with a bad attitude in the middle And we need 1 linebacker with the same attitude Fix the defensive line and the secondary will get better Would be nice to draft a good safety or corner
