I think anyone with a good mind can learn to be a GM. What exactly did Lynch do that made hi so qualified to be a GM? Did he have front office experience?

I like this trade. But Jerry's record of doing things on his own is not good. Galloway and Roy WIlliams trades were all on him.

If they offered what everyone else offered they wouldn't have gotten him. 49ers would have moved him to an AFC team. Cowboys also did not have a 5th or 6th round pick because of prior trades. They will get comp picks that haven't been awarded yet.

yes and i read 1 other team was, but not for a 4th round pick, and not as a potential or definite future starting qb.
I think the other 2 were looking at him as a possible good #2.

Jerry decided in seconds he was a potential or definite franchise qb.
Since jerry is so much smarter than other GM's he knew he could "fix" lance because he was a round 1 pick.

If the fans on here ran the team, we would pick in the top 5 every year. And never retain a top pick. Because they would trade them away for other picks instead of wanting to pay a 2nd contract.
You know, being cheap, something they whine about Jerry for not playing top dollars to other FA's,c saying he wants to save the money. Or using all the salary cap to improve the team. Sounds hypocritical there doesn't it.
