Personally, I dont have a problem with Wade as HC. But jeez....just let the guy pick his own defensive coaches. There is just noway that Bowles would be high on Wade list of coaches he wants....so if Bowles is named DC...this basically tells me that Jerry is the quasi-head coach...high up in his office.

Sorry I mean Greg Ellis, you're right about that. In a 3-4 a strong safety has to cover way more than he should. Roy Williams is TOTALLY not fit for that duty. Any blind person could see that or did you go to the stevie wonder school of player evaluation? LMAO!

• This hire totally surprised me. You hear and see in the newspapers that it's Norv. Jerry made a decision to go with the defense. They were pretty good on offense last year.
• I think the 3-4 was the biggest influence in the hire. They have drafted for the 3-4 over the last couple of years. Wade knows how to bring pressure from different angles with a defense.
• One thing about the 3-4 last year is that ours was pretty stagnant. If you watch SD or Pittsburgh you will see the aggressive style. He will find the right way to use Roy and I think he may be the one player that flourishes most under Phillips. The OLB's should should flourish as well.
• We'll have to wait and see if Jason is ready yet. I think he may be. I've known him for many years. He has a brilliant, brilliant mind when it comes to the offense. Troy will tell you that Jason helped him with his game. He really knows the fine points on offense. He has a great personality and he will help Romo alot. Romo will gravitate to him.
• I do not want to coach. I am not built to be a coach. I don't have that type of patience.
• I think this is a playoff team, especially in the NFC. I think the Cowboys on any given day could have beaten Chicago last year. With Jason on the offensive side and Wade being a top-flight defensive coach makes Dallas a SB caliber team. Defense wins championships and this team has the talent to be dominant.
• Nate said the offense carried the 90's teams. Are you kidding me big man? No way. Bottom line, defense wins championships.
• I've always loved Norv Turner, but if I'm looking at it from a championship standpoint, they made the best hire. Wade is a great defensive mind and he will make this team better, next year.

If so, then Wade shouldn't have a problem retaining him. But...it should be his choice. Same with Sparano. If they are both kept along with Garrett being hired, then it would be a tough sell to say it was all Wade's decisions.

That's all I'm saying - it isn't usually a good thing when the HC can't determine his own staff.

and given where we are - you choose to ONLY SEE the "facts" that damn jjones.

he "hired" 1 person. that's it. he kept who he viewed some key members around and denied them permission to go elsewhere.

most of the "good" coaches for assistants aren't exactly just sitting around waiting for wade at this point. he's got what, 7-8 coaches to go hire. but instead of seeing that he can and will put his stamp on the coaches, you pull out what suits your view and ignore the rest of the facts.

why? only thing zrin and i can think of is that you need to be right more than...

but z - it's different cause he was parcells and that makes it so. while parcells could have kept or fired any of his assistants, to VA, phillips doesn't have that luxury.
