I mean, some teams have specific people assigned to analyze specific things like determining whether to challenge or go for two points.

I would think there would be some value in having someone work with the research team on mathematical analysis of clock management/game situations, and be charged with performing that analysis in game.

Ultimately it will always be the head coach's call on those sorts of things, but it seems within reason to have someone specifically charged with analysis that isn't the head coach given he is thinking through so many things throughout the game.
Then we don't have the right head coach.

If it means an assigned specialist, the training wheels are still on and I think he has been on the job enough to figure it out.

I think most of us agree the spike was moronic, but I'm not sure how I feel about the owner calling out the HC on it publicly.
It means nothing.

Just more more public emasculation of the head coach. Are we not used to that by now?

The tragic part is Garrett takes it and it is called "dealing with Jerry".

It was an awful decision and that was clear as day right when it happened. No hindsight needed.

Thats a fact, I was pulling my hair out asking wth are we doing??

Just another hindsight naysayer. Better one would be "we needed a TD instead of FG?" or "Should have gave the ball to Zek on 3 and 2 on our first drive"....

Sorry but it isn't nay saying it is reflecting on mistakes that were made so you can improve and learn from them.

I think people are way too thin skinned. I personally welcome criticism, as long as it is genuine, that is how you grow.

Well too bad Jerry..you spend the money, you hold the big bucks to your billion dollar franchise......but when it's all said and done your inept COACH JG and staff makes all the decisions....and JG said in press conference that it was the RIGHT CALL....too bad for you.

Hindsight is exactly right. If we take the ball and need every second to score a TD, great spike. The ball being batted down was the worst thing that could have happened. No yards and clock stops. I have no problem with the spike, but I probably would have run the ball and decided what to do on the next play.

Why? For once Jerry's right. If he agrees with Garrett nobody would believe him.

If Jerry doesn't like Garrett's game management skills, why is he still the coach and why does he get vote after vote of confidence, even when he keeps screwing up? What are the consequences for the ineptness? There doesn't appear to be any.

That would be pretty amazing.

A first time ever hire of a time management coach?

It is clear the existing people have trouble handling it and the rigors of the team at the same time.
We can address their shortcomings by firing them or adding to the team.
Less disruptive to add to the team than rip everything apart.

I am hoping this is a sign that Jerry now has Garrett on the clock. It's time for results not only in the regular season but also in the postseason. We are entering Year 7 with a guy who has one playoff win to his name. He must do better. The franchise needs to demand better.
