Hindsight is exactly right. If we take the ball and need every second to score a TD, great spike. The ball being batted down was the worst thing that could have happened. No yards and clock stops. I have no problem with the spike, but I probably would have run the ball and decided what to do on the next play.
Yeah, your probably going to burn that TO before you want to..if you don't spike it. If you run that first down play and don't get out of bounds you probably have to spike it on 2nd down, but it does burn more time. But you'd also like to think you defense could stop them from gaining 40 freaking yards in 30 seconds

I mean, some teams have specific people assigned to analyze specific things like determining whether to challenge or go for two points.

I would think there would be some value in having someone work with the research team on mathematical analysis of clock management/game situations, and be charged with performing that analysis in game.

Ultimately it will always be the head coach's call on those sorts of things, but it seems within reason to have someone specifically charged with analysis that isn't the head coach given he is thinking through so many things throughout the game.

Right - we need to make it work instead of blowing it up.

That person needs to be pretty smart and preferably from the New England system.
He can have an additional role - game plan against our team over the week so we stop doing stupid things like:
1. trying to substitute when the opposing qb takes advantage of it.
2. analyze plays and figure out options if formations/plays are too predictable

This is definitely a full time job

Against this same team, Green Bay, in the regular season the Offense went 97yds with no timeouts and scored a TD. Yet Sunday with 48secs and a TO near the redzone this Offense needed a spike??? Come on. It's foolish to defend that playcall by Redhead. Just dumb and unnecessary.

It is clear the existing people have trouble handling it and the rigors of the team at the same time.
We can address their shortcomings by firing them or adding to the team.
Less disruptive to add to the team than rip everything apart.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Too much divided responsibility. One more excuse for Garrett.

I can live with the 30 secs.
It is the lost of the extra down that was insanely stupid.
Watching the game - I was like what the f___
Then in total surreal fashion, we could not get 10 yards.
Kicked the fg and the rest is history.
I was sitting on the ground in total disbelief.
When we had the ball in GB territory, I thought we had them.
Then this incredible stupidity happened.

You'd like to think that, but there was no reason to think that would happen in that game. That wasn't Brock Osweiler on the other side of the field--that was Aaron Rodgers with two time outs and 35 seconds and Mason Crosby who had just hit a 56 yarder. All it would take is two or three completions to get into FG range. Rodgers should have never seen the field again in regulation.

This team went 97yds in 33secs and scored a TD with no TOs yet needed more time Sunday closer to the redzone, with a TO, and even more secs than they had in the regular season which I believe was 43secs. How and why? Redhead choked as usual.

I think they were just happy to get it to overtime there

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Too much divided responsibility. One more excuse for Garrett.

The person who is on the communications link should be standing next to the time management person.
The person who does game time management should game plan against our own team during the week.
That is a full time job and such a role would have prevented:
1. INT due to overuse of the receiver screen - by being having less predictable formations.
2. stupid marinelli from inanely trying to substitute when Rodgers is known for taking advantage.
That is at least 2 penalties (or 1 penalty and 1 timeout) and the only TO.
That could well be 10 points right there as the momentum was swung during those penalties in the first half.

I would give them that much credit.
If Prescott decided to spike, I can forgive.
If coaches decided, then it is unforgivable and must be addressed.

Then we don't have the right head coach.

If it means an assigned specialist, the training wheels are still on and I think he has been on the job enough to figure it out.
That's a ridiculous notion.

It's a 3 and out on the very first drive if they don't try to sub on a 3rd and FIVE. I was more mad about those than the spike

I dont remember that.
But I was in amazement after the spike.
Then the rest happened and I was sitting on the floor in disbelief - we had them where we wanted them.

This was the most efficient way to rescue defeat from the jaws of victory that I remember in a playoff game
NO EXCUSE
If Jimmy Johnson was coach, he would just recognize that something needs to be fixed and fix it.

I dont remember that.
What also bother me was that we were going long too much on 3rd and not long.
There seems to be a difference from Prescott when our drives were more consistent.
Obviously we dont know what the defense was doing.
But I would say our passing may have gone a little too aggressive.

Not hindsight...common sense.
Basically. People are acting like people that thought it was a bad idea always think like this. We are talking about this specific situation not every time. When you see someone down why not keep running plays until they prove they can stop it?

This was obvious and not hindsight.
Forget the momentum, we wasted a down when there was plenty of time - unbelievable.

Thank you Jerry.

So tired of the culture of excuse making and refusing to admit mistakes.
yeah I am waiting for the moral victory, and watch the tape and get better, learn from mistakes and move forward, it is football, and we made
football decisions !!
JG said he needed to take a breath and figure out how much time they had and what to do lol
He is such a joke.
more of the same next year guys so stay tuned.

If they do build a super team, he might still find a way to lose.

That has to be one of the first times JJ has publicly questioned the Red Clapper Butt Slapper.......not saying there are changes in the works, but maybe just maybe his standing with JJ is not as solid as we think.
