Maybe it's because I'm 31, but I can literally find, assuming Jerry doesn't restructure Dak's deal, when we could June 1 him for the most optimal time. I can literally research draft prospects with a simple search of Walter Football and a simple YouTube video. Jerry thinks it's 1998, and we fans can't research stuff. we can Google what he says and found out what's true and what's false.
I'm 62 and have watched the best of cowboy football with the best coaches the best rosters and watched how the teams that were successful were built.

I don't have to do a lick of research to see what Jerry's doing to our team he is clearly interested in generational wealth not super bowl trophies.

He has his trophies and he's all about the money now and that's the bottom line

Oh, no doubt. The point that I'm trying to make is that, even if he thought he could hoodwink fans, it's 2024 and we have Internet. It's not like 1998 when he could screw things up, and fans couldn't exactly research it very well.

No he’s prime Jerry Jones… a marketer who has built this franchise into the most valuable sports franchise

We were all laughing at Vince McMahon and his antics… no one is laughing anymore are they?

Jerry is cut from the same cloth…
Jerry did not make this franchise “the most valuable” by himself nor did the Cowboys franchise become that solely because of what Jerry did since he bought the team in 1989.

I‘ve said this many times - Jerry deserves some credit for sure for making the Cowboys more valuable than ever. BUT…let’s be clear…He did not buy the browns or the jaguars. He bought the team that had been known as “America’s Team” for over a decade before anyone had ever heard of Jerry Jones. The team had already won 20 of its current 35 playoff wins before he bought the team.

Yes, Jerry has done a lot to market the Cowboys and the NFL. But acting like he alone made this franchise what it is is just inaccurate.

My continuing message of positivity is that when looking at this seasons performance we don't have to worry about our coaches or coordinators being poached.

However I see that East Carolina has a new HC vacancy so perhaps MM or Al Harris gets a nod from that illustrious program

More and more fans are realizing not only how bad JJ is as a GM, but more importantly how little he really cares for the team or its fans.

What I mean about not caring about this team is this: If Jerry Jones really cared about the great history and reputation of this franchise he would step down. He cares more about himself and his pathetic ego than our beloved Cowboys. There is no question about that.
There's very few left who are still declaring that Jerry wants to win more than anyone.

I know we are just fans, but I don't appreciate Jerry insulting our intelligence as fans. His statement this morning about Henry not fitting our offense and such is absolute cap, and he knows it. Jerry, please stop insulting our intelligence.

We have two rookie olinemen. You know what helps rookies? A running game. Henry can bowl over people if needed. Sure, he may not get quite as many yards as he's getting in Baltimore, but our entire team would be better with him here. It's simple fundamental football. A good running game makes the rest of the offense successful. It opens up the play action, which is Dak's biggest strength. Dak is at his best when he can play action.

I would appreciate it if Jerry would just come out and admit he messed up not getting Henry. My anger at him would significantly lessen if he'd admit his mistake and put fixing our run game and stopping the run as a top priority.

You can only fix an issue when you admit you make a mistake. Instead, he sees fit to insult our intelligence.
Jerry is not wrong in saying that Henry would not be having a career year of he were in Dallas.

Too many holes on this roster for a RB to succeed in this offense. Jerry knows it. So Jerry didn't spend the money.

My issue with Jerry insulting our intelligence is that he does not go full blown rebuild. This roster is garbage it needs a full rebuild. But all that matters in pro sports is $$$$. Keep fans interested so they keep spending money and time on this team. Until fans stop spending money and time on the Cowboys nothing will change.

That's not why Jerry didn't spend the money.

I hear what you are saying but I agree with Jerry. Mind you, Jerry either intentionally or unintentionally insulted himself with his remark, but I also believe Derrick Henry would not be doing as well in Dallas.

First, The Cowboys do not block the run as well as the Ravens. It is not just the rookie OL, although that is part of it. Zack Martin hasn't been playing great either. And let's face it, our WRs and TEs are not great blockers. You need those guys to get on defenders and block them to spring Henry for those 80 yard runs down the sideline. In Dallas, I am pretty sure Henry would struggle to get past the LOS. I can say that because I am not responsible for choosing the players who can't block. Jerry is. Would Henry do better in Dallas than Zeke or Rico, or Deuce? Yes, of course. He is a great RB. I just don't think he would help this team as much as others do. This team is not bad because they are missing one player.

Also, the Cowboys do not commit to the run the way the Ravens do. Plus they have the threat of Lamar taking off. The Cowboys give up on the run quicker than any team I have seen. I don't think it would be different if Henry were a Cowboys. IMO, Dak throws the ball too much, and if teams loaded the box to stop Henry against us, we would throw the ball even more.

So while Jerry may be an awful GM, he seems to have his finger on the pulse of his team this year. Henry should be happy he signed in Baltimore and not with Dallas.

One final thought, Jerry may have planned this year to be a down year on purpose. His lack of signing anyone in the offseason is evidence of this. Why sign someone like Henry if the plan is to tank the season for whatever reason? Jerry just didn't sign Henry. He didn't sign anyone but Zeke. He could have sign Pollard if he wanted to. Jerry had no interest in improving the team in 2024. That is abundantly clear to me.
