LOL it wasn't Stephen A Smith. Look I can't stand the guy just like most people but every time somebody says something anti-Cowboys which this really wasn't we always blame SAS. It was Peter Rosenberg of New York hip hop station Hot97 who said it. He is co-hosting the Ryan Rusillo show with Rusillo. Rosenberg is a hack so it's not surprising that he gave this opinion without much thought.

Thanks for the correction, I really wasn't sure who it was, I just had it on as background noise until I heard that. There was a commercial shortly after and I got called away. Was Smith on the show? I thought I heard him a few times.

You have to put Parcells and Coughlin on that list. In my opinion, they go 3 and 6. Parcell could be 2.

Just heard this on ESPN radio while sitting at my desk working so I don't have a link.
I'm not even sure who is all on the panel, but they are talking about Chip Kelly being racist and whatnot, when one of them (possibly SAS) says that some in the media are treating him like he is a better coach than Joe Gibbs who is the best coach in the history of the NFC EAST.

Is it possible that this is the consensus. Could he really be regarded as better than Tom Landry?

Just thought I would share, it struck me as funny at first, but then I think he was being serious.

Strange thoughts from a strange dude

So we are reduced to my daddy can beat up your daddy threads?

Will the season start already?

Haha, yeah. It is my fault for being careless and too quick with it. I literally typed that list up in about 15 seconds without putting too much thought into it.

The guys I put were just a quick list of roughly, where I thought Gibbs belonged.

I should have known better than to not put some real thought into it before typing it up.

My bad.

I am not as quick to dismiss the strike Superbowls because every team had a chance under the same rules.

I didn't listen to the entire show but they did refer to Smith during that particular conversation.

You would have Landry second to Parcells? Or did you mean Coughlin?
BP's record of rebuilding teams is unmatched in the history of the NFL.
Giants- were about the same level as the bungles or ain'ts when he took over and got them two titles.
Took the Patriots who were almost as bad to the SB.
Got the Jets with Vinny as the QB to the AFC title game.
Put up with Jerruh and got us respectable and rebuilt.
So yeah for the NFC east he has to be second to Landry. Then its a toss up between Jimmy and Gibbs.

and Landry changed the game of football by inventing both the 4-3 D and The Flex D and also had major offensive innovations. What did Gibbs create?

The two tight end offense, largely created to block Lawrence Taylor.

I give Gibbs alot of credit for winning 3 SB with 3 different non HOF QBs. However Landry dominated a generation

Along with the h back and lots of motion (from Landry)

He was a gifted offense minded coach. Not afraid of trying new things.
