Yeah, the Boys can easily work him in under their cap... remember, at this point they haven't renegotiated a single contract, and if things got tight, there are probably several that could be reworked to give the team even more cap room...
I'd prefer they not do that, it hurts your cap flexibility in future years, but it's always an option... and you explore every option if you have a chance to add a Julius Peppers for a 3rd rounder and Ellis...
All that said, I doubt that the Panthers would be willing to make that trade... it just doesn't feel like near enough return for that good a player, even if he is being the squeaking wheel right now... they can do better than that, I'm sure of it...
