Goff has ended up being the best QB from the 2016 class.

5-4 in the playoffs. More wins than those bums Dak and Romo combined.

8 TDs to 2 INTS in the his playoff career.

A Super Bowl appearance and leading the Lions, yes the Lions, to the NFC Championship game.

If any team pays Dak more than what Goff is being paid then they will deserve the failure that Dak brings them.

LOL, I knew Lex was here.

What you're saying here is post Covid-19 ratings are higher than ratings during Covid-19.
Pre-Covid-19 ratings were higher than post-Covid-19 ratings. So, not really rebounding.
Sort of like killing jobs, then re-opening those very same jobs and calling it "job growth".
Since we're discussing NBA, LeBron James couldn't
have played 15 minutes in the Jordan Era.
(Just had to add that point.)
NBA games averaged a 3% share during the 2022-23 season, the highest of the past 20 years. It is worth noting that the share is a consolation prize at best; few cited the figure prior to the recent collapse in TV viewing. Nonetheless, the share does indicate that the NBA, and live sports in general, has been largely resilient to the shrinking linear television landscape.

Goff was grossly overpaid. They did it because this is their window of opportunity. He's a decent QB made better by his team. Not the other way around. The Lions will accept that because they have no other choice.

You must not have watched him the last three years. He has done more with less than Dak ever has. Goff didn’t have the same talent out at the rams as stafford did. He had a good team but was young and he went to the sb. Trans traded him and he has been able to show that he can not only win, win by putting the team on his shoulders. Goff is hand down better than Dak and that’s just a fact.

2nd time he's made the conference championship game and he's even made a Superbowl appearance. Interested to see how the back half of his career plays out, Detroit's roster looks like it's going to be good for a while.

Dak beat nobody last year and 2 seasons ago the only guy he beat was Baker Mayfield. Think your confusing players ? (the only time Goff has played Dak in the playoffs was the 2018 season and Dallas lost the game)
Confusing players?

Dak beat Tom Brady not Baker Mayfield.

A really bad bucs team but if you are going to say someone is confusing players. Maybe use google first?

Crazy money… greed is ruining this sport.

You can’t effectively field a team with the cap where it’s at and star players (agents) demanding to reset the market with every deal.

I am all for the owners sharing more of the pie with the players. I just think this system is fundamentally flawed in it’s current form.

Consider:

Troy Aikman’s highest cap charge was 16 million in 1999 (base of 6.667 million). He made a TOTAL of 55 million as a Cowboy (10 million of which was dead money) in 12 seasons

Now— in 1/3 the time (4 seasons), Jared Goff is GUARANTEED to make 3 X what Aikaman earned OVER HIS ENTIRE HOF CAREER.

That is not “inflation”. That is insanity.
The only way to save this sport is by capping the percent of the cap that can go into each position group.

Otherwise. WRs are going to be making QB money soon.

I've watched him since 2018. Put pressure on him, or stop their run, and he sucks. Look at the game against Chicago in 2018. Goff has never impressed me. He looked like crap against us last year too. We usually suck against good teams. Not Detroit. He's a slightly above average QB that had his coach calling him out a few years ago. He was treading water until last year. The only difference between Dak and Goff is that Dak steps down in the playoffs, never steps it up. Goff can step it up until the pressure is on, then spits the bit.

Probably a bargain in today's absurd market. All that matters is the guaranteed money and the annual cap hits.

8 tds in 9 games is not a stat you should have included
Only 2 turnovers which means he produces 4 times as many TDs as turnovers. Meanwhile, Dak has 14 TDs and 9 turnovers, which means Dak produces turnovers at more than half of his TD production.

Thread is skewed by the haters and the fanboys. Fact is Goff and Dak are probably close on the same pedestal. Goff has better Playoff success, but I think they‘re both in that next echelon of good, but not great, QBs. Whatever Goff gets, Dak’s agent can probably find the same.

Maybe, but at least he's spitting the bit with pressure, Dak does not require pressure to go full tard in the playoffs.
