Roy Williams is a Randy Moss-type receiver. He's speedy and he goes up and wins jump balls. As for giving up draft picks, I personally believe it is a very bad idea to ever give up a 1st round pick - no matter how good the player - because you might end up with another Joey Galloway deal. It would make far more sense to wait until he's an unrestricted free agent the following year.

You know, those two #1s were a bad deal for Galloway, especially because they ended up being so high. But if you'd given up just one middle first rounder, it would have been fine. Look how productive he still is even seven years later.

Lets see...............Play for Houston with Shaub, or Dallas with Romo....... Gonna have to think about this one........

THis is great news IMO. Dare I say we aren't in as dire of need at WR in this years draft if RW has his sights on Dallas in 09?

And if thats the case, wouldn't it make it easier to package up 2 picks for a certain somone from Arkansas?

Things that make you go hmmmm...........

If Jones ever again spends two first round picks for one player, he hasn't learned anything.

Dallas may be better off with the players it already has.

Rather than lusting after people who are with other teams and may have developed bad habits or attitudes, maybe it should concentrate on developing talent like Miles Austin and Isaiah Stanback who have shown promise as fast receivers with good hands.

The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

I love all these rumor and speculation threads lately.

Our team of Roy Williams, Larry Fitzgerald, Chad Johnson, Jason Taylor, Darren McFadden, and Obi-wan Kenobi is gonna rule 2008.

Lock it up. Championship!

I still think we need to look at WR either in FA or the draft.

Reality of it is, even if the Roy Williams wants to return to Texas, its foolish to "bank" on it happening. The Lions could always franchise him. Similarly, we could look for a cheaper alternative (via draft) because of pending contract extensions with Newman, Ware, Canty, Barber on the horizon.

Draft a day one WR, resign Crayton....

Owens, Glenn, Crayton, Drafted WR, Stanback, Austin or Hurd.
I agree. IF we're to get him, we would have to make the trade after this season. I would not "bank" on him becoming a FA. Make the trade after this season or we go forward and take a WR w/ one of our 1st rounder in '08.....

I'll gladly give them our #1 for Roy Williams.

People get too caught up on holding on the their #1 picks hoping to hit the jackpot. The reality is that very few live up to their expectations. I rather take a sure thing than gamble on the pick and still have to pay a boat load on signing bonuses.

Example....think Raiders would take Romo or Russell with their #1 overall???!!

I would think it would be at least 2. 2009 he plays as franchised and only signs and plays if they guarantee they won't use it on him again - which is becoming kind of standard for players these days.

He's worth a 2nd round pick just to get him out of Detroit if they'd take that. Or a third and a player at a position where we have some options. I'd like to have him while we still can count on great performance from TO.

I doubt Detroit would do it, though. They'd do it for a first rounder. Especially if Millen is fired after this year and Martz is not. A first rounder is enough incentive to avoid the huge distraction and relatively huge cost that franchising him would entail.

Do you need a sling for that broken arm you have from patting your back?

:lmao:

He sounds a bit like me after weathering the tidal wave of TO hate last year.

just wait till he's a FA

Detroit probably wants someone to trade for him before his contract is up

shut up he is the best hitting safety and you act like he is the worst player in the nfl can any of you just shut up.

In most cases, a dominating, big play wide receiver is far more than a hard-hitting who plays mainly in run support. It isn't just Roy Williams I'd choose over Roy Williams.

I would take Roy Williams over Troy Polomalu, or Bob Sanders, or Adrian Wilson, or even Ed Reed.

maybe Roy can buy out his contract, like Lavar did, and get an early exit........but I doubt that happens.

He will be an unrestricted FA after next year. I say that is when we go after him. That would give us Williams, Crayton, Austin or Hurd, Stanback, Adarius Bowman (hopefully), and TO, if we decide to give him an extension.

Ok Roy is one of my favorite players, but he is not on the level of Ed Reed.....I must say the only safety I would take over Roy is Ed Reed.......Dawkins is a great safety, but he is aging and injury prone lately.

I should've been more specific. I meant the receiver Roy Williams.
