Washington's 6th overall=1600 points

Denver's picks:

21-800 points

56-340 points

70 (from Washington for TJ Duckett)-240 points

86-160 points

Total points=1540

So Denver would have to trade 4 draft picks to get to the number 6 overall

Or they could trade a 1st, 2nd and the 3rd they got from Washington plus Dre Bly (who based on the points in the trade from Detroit is valued at a 3rd round pick) to get Washington's 6th overall pick

Good for the Commanders because there needs to be an infusion of youth on the D. Denver will have a shot at an impact player, and if Peterson falls, would work perfect for them
Or they could make a trade that didn't comply precisely to draft value charts.

The nice thing with the picks is that we have created enough cap room not to have to trade Springs

But if Bly comes in, more then likely Springs will be moved in another deal. Could pick up a few late day picks for him (a 4th and 5th)

It wouldn't

Denver is still getting a 60 point edge

It just depends who blinks first and who is more desperate to make the move

In theory Washington should not be. We have Springs under contract and plenty of cap room. Bly is a free agent next year

Bly doesn't want to play in Denver and wants to come to Washington. We'll see if the Commanders FO can be smart on this one for once

If I were the deadskins, I would tell them I wanted Champ back or no deal. They are trying to get quanity over quality. Get you a star at #6, you won't regret it.

Denver can't move Champ. The cap hit they would take would be extreme, and its not like they have SF like cap room

In 2004, Denver held the cards. Champ wanted out of DC and was not coming back. He was taking up valuable cap room with him being franchised tagged

Now, if the Commanders FO is smart, they hold the cards. Denver is looking for that one player that can put them over the top for a Superbowl. Either a high impact d-lineman (Branch, Adams, Anderson) or Adrian Peterson

And Dre Bly doesn't want to be in Denver. He wants to be in Washington

You have your perfect storm for a trade to be done. The thing is, will Denver bite on this? The Commanders really do not need to make this trade, because we can keep Springs and be fine, and add a high impact d-lineman to improve our D

Since we're nostalgic...

remember when sportscenter did those lame offseason rankings and projected the super bowl winners?

The Commanders secondary was #2

Nice thread.

Great Mossburner quote in there, roundabouts post 10. You'd think they would learn after a year that we're just smarter. Even HeavyHitta was right!

a CZ classic

All first round talents. Where is the weakness? Tell me please.

:lmao2: I loved post 5 or 6 by redskin1, "it's talent and coaching at it's best"

yeah, that's why Washington has been trying to get Springs to take a pay-cut for the past week

The guy is older and has injuries

Yet after releasing John Hall today, the Commanders have about 9.3 million in cap room, with Spings' salary on the books

There is no reason to make Springs take a pay cut, it would just be nice :)

Adam Archuleta is the worst starting coverage safety in football. Even Commanders fans dont argue against this. He makes Roy Williams look like Ronnie Lott.

Sean Taylor looks for the big hit too often and gets burned, especially against Dallas.

Carlos Rogers was nicknamed "Toast" by his own media outlet

Shawn Springs is the only good coverage player in the secondary
You may be the biggest homer ever.
Care to dispute any of my claims? No? Then shut your trap and get back in line, sparky

Denver has to be up against the Cap, just lately they signed Graham, Henry, Ramsey, Montrae Holland and traded for Bly.

Who the hell is bragging son?

I am just stating facts here, Washington is 9.3 under the cap. What the hell difference does it make except it is what it is

If you are gonna debate football like a man, talk to me. If not, just put me on ignore and don't read my posts kid
