In 8 seasons Dak has worked with:

Two different Pro Bowl RB's.
Four different Pro Bowl O-linemen
Two different Pro Bowl TE's
Three different Pro Bowl WR's.

On average, 29% of Dak's fellow starters on offense were Pro Bowlers and 10% were 1st team All Pro.

Fail to see how this team is better than a divisional round team at absolute best without big jumps from year 2 players and rookies all contributing in a major way and it may take that just to be a divisional round team. We won’t suck like some think and while I’ll root like hell every week and keep an open mind - don’t think the end result will be any different than the last 29.

Front office played a scared game this offseason. Scared money don’t make no money
We have to have good fortune. No one expected the Lions to go that far. Hell, they should have been in the SB.

Big time upgrades to the LB corp will help the run defense this year. 4 new LB's and Bell back at S will make a difference.

I agree with you that an upgrade at DT will happen before the season starts.
What are the big time upgrades to the LB corp?

Steele is a guy that needs to get back to pre injury run blocking.
Everyone likes to claim with modern medicine you can always come back 100%
that is simply not true
While the odds greatly favor Steele returning to form as a decent pass blocker and excellent run blocker, until it happens we will not know for sure

Fifty year cowboys fans like myself fondly remember what the Boys were like before Jethro.

When the Cowboys had more substance than flash.

so we will probably never warm to him no matter what he does. He simply has for far too long made the Boys about himself.

It would be hilarious if this was the one year they actually do it though.

wouldn’t surprise me if some team cuts a DT who is better than our 1st rounder from last year.

Maybe we will get lucky this season and all the teams we face in the playoffs will have a catastrophic injury bug.
Better hope the same happens to the teams we play in December in order to win enough games just to make the playoffs.

What are the big time upgrades to the LB corp?
32 yr old Kendricks

Overshown - last years 3rd rounder who has yet to play in a regular season game and is now coming off an ACL

Marist Liufau - projected 5th/6th rounder selected in the 3rd.

But yes, surprisingly that is an upgrade from last year.

He got his Virtue Signaling in for the day.....as if the rest of us aren't looking forward to watching our favorite team play again......sheesh
Difference is you’re looking forward to the season so you can whine about everything and I’m looking forward to watching the Cowboys winning games.

I have doubts the passing game will be better. Because any issues with the passing game weren't due to the OL. It was the QB and you can argue an ineffective/inconsistent run game.

With the decisions that Cowboys have made at RB this offseason, it's quite possible the run game could get worse which means the QB might be more ineffective if they put more and more on his shoulders to overcome a poor run game. They really have to make sure this run game works. Hopefully there is a camp cut out there or a trade that can improve the RB group because right now, it's kinda sad.

Jerry and Stephen are going to be facing some major heat after this season if their cheapness and decisions result in another disappointing season.
The issues with the offense weren’t the QB, it was teams knew the Cowboys couldn’t run the ball so played accordingly.

I think the D will be more sound, but I’m curious about TO’s. Diggs and Bland are just naturally gifted at forcing TO’s but I don’t remember Zimm’s D’s getting much.

If those go down it’s going to be tough
All the turnovers didn’t turn into playoff wins so I’ll trade a few for a stout run defense any day.

It's boring every day when just about every link turns into an anti-Dak thread.
So true. It’s like they’re out there with fingers on the keyboard waiting for the next new thread they can ruin with their hate filled agendas.

2 weeks ago I was about as down on the Cowboys since 88 and 89. These last 2 weeks have been good for us. I feel we had a solid draft that provides a good foundation. Also with Dak being cleared of criminal charges is a plus. I’m not the biggest Dak fan on the field but I am really happy with that mess being cleared up. I’m glad this organization doesn’t have to deal with that type of drama again, especially in this offseason that has already sucked.

I think I’ll get more excited as the season gets closer but things I’m going to watch for is running the ball, defending the run and QB play. This season I’m not going to get sucked into false hope like I did last year. I’m looking for solid QB play, running game and run defense against good teams. When I see that I think I’ll get more excited.

Now we’ve had a good two weeks so maybe I’m being optimistic but I think the run game and pass game will improve with the offensive line improving. That’s football 101. And maybe Zimmer will figure out how to stop the run. We’ll see but my excitement has been rekindled the last 2 weeks.
The reason the OL, running game and passing game will be better this year then last year is?
