Miller is 33 years old and the cash he'd want isn't worth it
said the rams with their ring with Miller and Beckam....and the bills destroying the Rams at their home!!! but hey, we saved 20M on the cap and the team is worth $8.5B, that's something to celebrate

I'm gonna give Sam Williams a snap or two before I conclude that.

You may just be surprised.

Be lucky Gregory didn't take the 70 million for now.
No matter how it pans out, paying Gregory a big contract was not the answer.

Either...did't the Rams just win the Super Bowl?
At this point, Von is a merc, going to the highest bidder/super bowl contender. I would imagine the Rams let him walk, because if they'd paid him, they'd have major weaknesses in other areas from players they'd have had to let walk.

i mean he played for them for half a season and won a sb and bolted. not like they dumped him, doubt there’s any bad blood
It's not about bad blood. It's just the mentality of players these days. That, let me show them what they missed out on, mindset.

One game where the guy played against his old team. Don't guys usually get amped up to play their old teammates?

right fans are using ONE game to go back as usual and attack the FO.. sorry that would need 17 games of seeing how our D plays Vs Miller, at years end we can judge that decision. Proof doesn't get that, he couldn't wait to Ponce but let's see how these narrative ages at years end when we have the full data...

where are all the detractors now? to say the "RAMS Way" wasnt great , they looked unprepared at OL ie "they didn't have plan to replace some guys last year", that qb who BTW led the league in picks and who the zone says is better then Dak, threw three INTS , they had no run game and couldn't stop the bills IE got out physicaled. im not seeing anyone go back after one game and sat the very things they do about our team and our players especially DAK and say like i always have said. Its a team game and Stafford sure looked like Detroit Stafford, hes not a savior (oh wait that 40mil qb that choked) when the OL, run game, and defense doesn't do they part JUST LIKE DAK.. He got bailed out in the SB , many games that defense helped erase those INTS, yet fans here have him ahead of Dak, hes not ive always said Romo, Stafford cousins dak all in the same tier. they like many QBs need help. Hard to overcome that mess and that game is no different than our playoff game, rams got manhandled at home and Stafford did not Put that team on his back.

OH and BTW sure was a lot of Bills fans at that game, odd how loud they sounded, thought that was just OUR FANS at OUR Stadium. Umm nope another narrative shot down..

that's my point,
this place overreacts and goes out of the way to rip our team and players and then go prop up and drool over others.

MEH i do not stand for that. ok terra, i am fan not enabling anyone, cowboys have always been like this and always will be. Your little tantrums and outbursts around here in protest will never change a thing,

you will have to convince real fans to not attend games , not buy garb, and also the medias, because BTW they put the Cowboys even early this season at the top of every news's story, the league also has hand in it , always gives us Primetime games and guess what , they will keep doing so because our games are the top rated draws in our time slot.

Terra says it me and fans like me, nope, its the entire package that comes with being Americas Team, its a living breathing entity and nothing the detractors ever say will change that. you can never go to games and never buy gear but that won't help when the media and true blue fans and the league stop caring that's what is needed. not a little "Hater" group in a few forums LOL.

You realize how minuscule you are and all this whining and calling us homers which BTW is badge of honor when you claim you are FAN won't stop Americas Team from remaining popular.

Do you really have to wait an entire season to go by before you can form an opinion? I can form an opinion rather quickly when it comes to proven players. With the exception of a freak injury, I see very little reason why VM won’t have another good season. It seems like the team agrees with you though. They won’t wait to see one game before saying that they are not interested because “ we like our guys”. I don’t know why Stephen won’t be honest and say that he is too cheap to pay for decent free agents, even when those free agents wants reasonable money and can upgrade a position on the team.
Yes,

Insufficient Data, thats like watching the first 10mins of a movie and forming an opinion, no one would care they would look at you like the face im making now with you trying to make point after one game :muttley::lmao: IM bet you review products before using them enough to form a real opinion, go right to amazon after you open the box and tell everyone how it sucks..LMAO thats the same as this thread..

. thats why your opinion has less weight. If you dont get that, i feel sorry for you.

The one and only protests that Jerry could understand would be for fans to boycott everything that Jerry is selling. Stop buys the tickets, t-shirts, etc, that Jerry sells to pad his pockets with. This team could go years without having a winning season and some of these fans would still buy $300 worth of Cowboys gear every year , so why should Jerry change? The fans are doing nothing more than enabling Jerry when they spend that money. As it stands, Jerry has no reason to change the team. He gets to play with his toy and he gets a lot of money doing it. Most of these fans are going to donate their money if the team wins, loses or draws. They call themselves loyal fans for their blind support for the Cowboys and they call the rest of us trolls because the rest of us will not buy into the BS.

If you are gauging skill based on "Sack totals" then no, they aren't done. But I saw first hand how great Robert Quinn was against the run.

Quinn was never great against the run. He was a pass rush specialist. He's in the age bracket where you claim guys are officially "done". So he suddenly wont be able to rush the passer anymore now? Chandler Jones too?

The reality is that players, including edge players like a Miller or Peppers or Jones or Quinn, can play well into their 30s. So just looking at a guy's age and saying, gee, he hit some magic number age wise, he can't play anymore is kind of silly.

Lol..Tank played in 9 less games and had 3 sacks Randy played in 4 less games than Miller and had 6 sacks and 1 less pressure than Miller, but keep trying to convince yourself he's a much better rusher than Gregory at this point in his career and he's worth the 5 highest guarantee andb4th highest contract....lol

LOL. Miller is a better edge player than Gregory.

It's kind of silly to suggest otherwise. But I get it, we are in full blown Cowboys defense mode and when that happens, people tend to say outrageous things to cover for Jerry and Stephen.

At the end of the day, I wanted ZaDarius Smith. He's also a better edge player than Gregory and cheaper coming off injury.

Oh man all I could think about last night was if we had von Miller coming off edge with parsons how nasty our defense would’ve been. Not even mentioning dlaw to the picture. Wow management don’t wanna win
That does create salivation. I'll still leave cash flow items to the ones who have walked foot by foot over the past 20+ years and paid the price for knowledge behind the choices.

The Cowboys are still the highest valued sport franchise in the world. The entire world isn't stupid.

yeah I understand, but that’s typically reserved for when a player is cut or traded or something other than how things played out in LA. They went out and acquired Von, they won a title and he moved on to greener pastures

He basically got a 3 year 54 million deal with team options to have him for 17 and 19 million years 4 and 5 if he is still playing at a high level. That was a fantastic deal for the Bills. If the Cowboys matched that deal they would be smart.
This is somewhere between full on goofy and recency bias.

Von Miller missed 2 years from 2019 and 2020.
He returned in 2021 and split his time between two teams with 9.5 sacks.

No one else came close to offering a 32-year-old DE that type of money.
He looked worth it Thursday but it is a long season and they are paying him a million a game whether he plays or not.

He did not miss 2 years, he missed one year. He played in 2019 and 2021 (having 8 sacks and 9.5 sacks respectively). We have no idea if anyone came close to matching but we do know that the Bills were the team he picked and we know the Cowboys by some weird fantasy logic thought that he was worth the same as Gregory who again has less sacks for his career than Miller has in his last 2 years playing.

The only bias in play here is the people on here, like you, who are in denial because he was being touted as the best free agent pass rusher by a mile by just about every single expert out there but they thought that paying him the same as a guy whose career high sack number is 6 was a fair offer.
