Is this the same Broaddus that had Marinelli's van packed and headed to Tampa Monday monring after the GB loss? Done deal?
Broaddus lost a lot of cred from me with that story.

I have never suggested trading Leary for him. I wouldn't trade Leary because Collins is unproven.
Wait, so Leary is some treasure we should clutch to our bosoms?
Seriously?
I don't want to jeopardize depth, but when I could use it as a resource to shore up problem areas on the roster, I certainly think about it.
Why does everyone assume Collins will replace Leary? Old Man Free could be replaced by Collins as well. No talk of trading him though.

You're being far too kind to Hayden.Free is the Nick Hayden of the offense.
Every swinging you know what thinks he is terrible, he hangs around.
Same thing.
This article was less informative than 99% of the posts on this forum.
As much as I want an upgrade from Free, Collins has never played RT, and switching sides usually isn't very easy, especially for a rook. He'll probably get reps at RT though to improve his technique, but I don't see him beating out Free this season. Probably next, though.
Collins played LG and LT in college and is much more acclimated to the position. It's also my opinion that Collins signed here, while having other suitors, because we told him we'd get him on the field. LG seems like the much more likely destination with an eventual move to RT.
The only thing in that article I was even remotely interested in was Knile Davis. Would be cheap, can haul the mail 25 to 30 times a game if necessary and is young.
I understand that, but Leary is Young, , Free is getting to the end of his career. I'd see what Collins can do in the pre-season at RT.

Leary's knees are a concern though.
I won't pretend to think I know what his value is, but one thing I do know is that being part of a unit like he has been, his value will be inflated.
Parnell was able to parlay fill in duty into a good contract.
If he has value, move him if you must.
I still like being greedy and resting on depth, but in today's NFL, that is not always smart.
I'm not going to rid of a proven player because of a highly coveted undrafted FA (I know why he wasn't drafted, even if he was drafted, I wouldn't care)..

I'm really surprised at the lack of love for Forte. He's a true three down back, extremely durable, and we'd only be on the hook for his salary for this season.
We'd save a roster spot by acquiring Forte because he can do it all. He'd make Dunbar expendable, because Forte is such a good receiver that he'd take Dunbar's place in our 5 wide packages. He'd give us the option of getting rid of McFadden because Forte would take over that 3rd down role.
If all it'd take is OL depth (Leary) to get the deal done, you do this yesterday. If the asking price is higher than that, then I start leaning towards no since Forte is just a one year rental.
