We don't know what grade OD Leary had, how successful treatment was, want kind of treatment he got, or his signs, symptoms or functionality. He could very well have a normal career depending on the answers above which we're not privy to. So trading him depends on the trade line date, interest in other clubs, compensation, how well Collins performs etc.

Jones as already said he's not trading the depth away. How accurate that statement is, is debatable. Maybe someone will make him an offer he can't refuse.

Hell no! I would rather Starr with Randle than trade anything for Forte. No thanks.

Give me Peterson or give me nothing.

It's pretty much dead in the water. No AP trade will happen Unless Peterson holds out. Which I don't think he is willing to do.

I think you look at Miller.

The Peterson possibility is not dead at all. It's just a matter of what Dallas is willing to give up.

There is a price for any player.

And their price is most likely quite high. If the Vikings are as high on Peterson still as they claim and envision him being there until the day he retires, they aren't giving him up for at least a few draft picks; and a couple of them will be high. That's about as dead as it can be in this league.

Once the May cuts date passed, that was it. I don't see Peterson ever playing in Dallas, and it will be a good thing. We don't need to be giving up premium picks for Peterson.

Much rather have Chris Johnson at a cheap price than have to give up loads for Forte.

I like Moreno at the same price(No Leary). The guy can get you hard yards, catch, and is good at picking up blitzes. He had a great 2013, then got injured early in 2014. I think he could be a real deal over here. AND, every Star Spangled opening to every game he can turn on those aquaducts he calls eyes to show Cowboys love America. :)

Wait, are we still dreaming our backup guard is still too good to offer in trade?

Yeah, Knile Davis is more interesting to me too. No clue if KC needs a G. They traded for Ben Grubbs ahead of the draft and they reached for an OL guy in the draft fairly high.

If not Leary, Joe Randle for Knile Davis might be a better fit with both teams. Both are on their first contract in year 2. Similar statistically, though Davis started once last year and put up 130+yards in that game. Was lead back in a couple others and was very productive. Other games, not really productive at all. Randle hasn't had a break out game like Davis, but has been more consistently productive.

Also, Randle is from Wichita and played at K St. I think he also has a child in Kansas. Davis is from Texas.

Can't argue with anything you've said above there. I mean I'm not looking to trade for Davis. If it happened it doesn't bother me but I'm not looking to either. I sure as heck would rather go the Davis route over Forte though if a trade were to occur.

At the end of the day I'm interested to see what Randle can do as a starter or at least as the first two downs back. Maybe have McFadden as the 3rd down/give Randle a breather series back to save wear and tear on McFadden. I liked it when we drafted Randle, thought he was solid at OSU and I think he could hit the hole at bit quicker than Murray. Just seems to have more burst to me. I'm not completely comfortable with our RB situation but I'm not panicking about it either. I don't write for SI.

I am not trading Leary who is a starter on the best offensive line in football for Forte straight up. The Bears will have to throw in more on their side of the deal.

I'm not interested in trading Leary. I don't want the starting Oline and chemistry disrupted by a trade. The only way I want it disrupted is internally by the personnel brought in to compete for a job against that starting five.

People are hating on Forte bc he's not AP, but Forte is still a beast

He is decent. He has lost step. He is good out of the backfield but he only averaged 3.9 per carry last year. Tons of receptions but not a lot to show for it. If he was a free agent, I would be willing to take a look but he is not. If the choice is to make a trade involving draft picks for Forte or just signing Chris Johnson off the street, I go with Johnson every time.

I hear that, but he played on an offense that tried something new last year and was an epic fail. and IMO Cutler is not good . Forte is talented enough to do real well here

Forte makes a lot more sense than Peterson ever did, not because he's better, because he's not and it isn't close, but Chicago is a team that is moving backwards and Minnesota at least looks to be a team trending upwards. Keeping Peterson at least gives Minnesota a chance at the playoffs, but more importantly, it makes life for Teddy Bridgewater significantly easier. That alone is worth his salary, unless some team offers multiple high draft picks. Chicago has little incentive to keep Forte, unless they think Cutler will play with renewed confidence under a new coach. I don't see that happening, since I'm pretty sure he's lost the locker room. So with all that being said, Forte's cost in draft picks should be much less than Peterson's.
