Maturity. Zeke versus Dak

This is exactly right.

Seriously, somebody needs to just get this kid and shake reason into his gourd. If you look at what the cap is going to do in the next couple of years, this kid could easily end up being set for the rest of his and his childrens and his grand childrens lives on his next contract. Next year, the Cowboys are a cinch to offer him a huge deal early, should he chose to lock up. If he hits FA it's going to be stupid money, if he has the right kind of PR behind him. If he does not, his payout is going to be much, much less IMO. I mean, he has a golden opportunity to set himself for life and then some. If he wants to play football for 6/7 years and party the rest of his life, he could and do it very comfortably.

I've seen Dak out and about with Zeke as well popping bottles and getting pretty wild, so he isn't innocent at all here, but I think he definitely knows he is the face of the Cowboys now and is the QB... I do think Zeke is headed down the Manziel road, if he doesn't put a stop to the constant partying and having to be with IG groupies.. Go look at all the thots he follows on IG

down the manziel road?

man, someone got a triple helping of drama at lunch and decided to share

So all the players should be locked away right after the season ends and study film until TC starts.
The doors open to let in the rookies then are locked again.

How about people go live at their work places, work 24/7 before telling players how to live.
no silly......
send them to a Shaolin monastery in china to learn kung ** and study proverbs and Confucius!!

Amen.

Not to mention he's in the perfect spot, barring injury, to have a hall of fame career. That kind of thing is obviously talent specific but also there is some luck involved in going to the right place. The world is in front of this kid. Any one of these incidents individually and I don't worry about it. All of this in concert is not exciting.

Hopefully he matures. Many have. Many....have not.

So I was young, stupid like most 21 year olds, and just typical 21 year old. I don't ever recall exposing a woman's breast at 21 or going in a pot store. I think he's suffering from what most young guys suffer from. They have been spoiled throughout their lives as an athlete. Everyone loves them, everyone lets them get away with murder, and he will just have to learn that this isn't high school anymore. I think once he matures and learns that, he will be rolling just like every other person did as they got older. My advice to him and other 21 year olds out there is have plenty of fun, but take your common sense with you when you do.
In all fairness, when you were 21, pot stores didnt exist......;)

It does not matter if you contribute to TMZ or any other publication fact is they will report what they are seeing and it will go across the wires and be reported on by everyone including those in the league office, it is the reality they live in. So when people say oh he is 21, that is fine but his world and the typical 21 year old is not the same. I can make a mistake and have time in my life to correct it, in the NFL it is a short career it matters what these guys do on and off the field. The way you think things should be is your own fairy tale not the reality of how things are.
In the NFL every player is under a personal conduct policy so what he does off the field matters not what you think is right
Yep and if we all had my fairytale viewpoint the world would be a better place

Everyone here keeps saying hes 21 and blah blah. He should definitely get his act together. Let us not forget though. This kid brought in boatloads of money for the league last year. Its in their best interest to keep him on the field. Its going to take a lot more than a few random incidents to get him into big time trouble with the league office.

I usually enjoy his posts but that was indeed a pretty brash stereotype. I think a lot of people, from the outside looking in, are quick to judge that scene without having any actual experience. Hell, I went to the Paradiso Festival in 2013 and there was every type of person imaginable. Fun time, btw.

Of course, i was using hyperbole. Ive had plenty of experience. Mostly because it is so easy to stereotype them. But saying no one uses drugs at house music shows is equally dumb, except they actually meant it.

Lol no one doing drugs at house music shows is hilarious.

This thread is not.

Zeke needs to exercise more discretion and common sense, prioritize football, AND is young, rich and doing young rich stuff.

And whoever said "this isn't high school" is delusional.

Personally, I don't care if he parties his *** off, flys to Amsterdam and engages in prostitution, drugs, and writes poems to farm animals. Having said that, the NFL conduct policy governs his actions, and carries very draconian penalties for violations for things that really may not even technically be illegal.

I'm all for him having fun. Hell, if I were his age making the millions upon millions that he is making I can assure you that he would really have to work at keeping up with me. You know people like Goodell and Mara are waiting for the first opportunity they get to mash his nuts in a vise. If you guys can't see that potential eventuality coming, quite frankly I think you are too dumb to live.

The things Zeke is doing are pretty stupid and jeopardize his career. If you are going to party, do it some place that it is behind the scenes where it is outside the media spotlight.

surely you aren't saying Zeke is not allowed to sell himself under Goodell "I decide what is good and bad" policy.

In your view, there is good and bad with everything. All I know is how things are and I don't say these things to come down on Zeke. I want the best for him and for this team and I also know, no matter how great he is if suspended for his action he does this team no good. I don't think the rules in the NFL are that hard to follow, hell many have been able to abide by them with 0 issues.

I don't expect saint hood to be achieved just some common sense to be used.

Fair enough, though, one could argue you could find drugs at almost any event. Lol

At any rate, we both made our point.

Back to topic, I do hope Zeke can find some sense of maturity. I get it, I do, I was young once but he has to realize the situation he is in. There are A LOT more eyes on him than there was on me going through my adolescent days.

Fair enough. No TMZ though for sure

You are right we live in a 24 hour news cycle these days, not to mention 99% of us have cell phones that can take pictures and videos and willing buyers for these pics and videos. It is a different world than we had 20 year or so ago and it makes it even harder for these guys but does not change the fact they need to be responsible for their actions on and off the field. There is just too much to lose over some of the dumbest things.

He can party all he want just stay off tmz and stop putting yourself in places where you can get pictures taken of you
