Another couple of losses and many fans will want McCarthy fired. He was being hailed king after the first two games, now he’s being thrown to the fire. Lol
If people forget last year's failures and thought he was great after two games this year where the defense suffocated their opponents, well, LOL............

I am guessing we are going to be having some interesting conversations about McCarthy come next Jan/Feb. Probably the same conversations about Dak.

Thank you. It’s like what game are people watching? The defense was hot garbage all game. 222 yards rushing to a team led by a journeyman QB? I’ve seen this picture before, when Dak was not on the team.
Why can't we just discuss the offensive failures? The defense stunk.

But so did the O, specifically in the RZ (which isn't a new problem by the way). Why can't we just talk about the offense?

Because the DEFENSE put us in a hole. The offense down 3 starters. I was hoping the defense could at least hold the points down. They couldn’t even do that.

Play calling hasn't been that good the 1st 2 games. The defense covered up a lethargic offense by getting 4 turnovers in each of the 1st 2 games. They did have a couple decent runs but nothing consistent and it's a big issue still. There will be excuses but they need answers more than anything.

Great.

The offense still stunk. And I want to discuss why it does - the QB and the OC being the two biggest culprits. If you want to rail about the D, start your own thread.

Well for starters, by the time McCarthy left, Rodgers was in his late 30s. So anyone who has had Rodgers post McCarthy didn't have the prime Rodgers.

And yes, Rodgers was the reason McCarthy won a SB. It's kind of silly to suggest otherwise.

I am stunned that people think he's a great coach.

Late 30s don't mean anything to great quarterbacks. Great quarterbacks have won Superbowls in their late 30s.

How ironic is it that you give Rodgers all the credit for that Superbowl win, yet he hasn't won another one WITHOUT McCarthy.

If Rodgers was so special, why hasn't he won more than the one McCarthy assisted him with?

He played only 3 seasons without McCarthy and in two of them he was in the NFCCG game. In 10.5 years with McCarthy they only made 3 total.

McCarthy is an average HC and OC. We'll learn that painful lesson just like we did with Garrett, wasting years on him. But sure, keep thinking he's great.

So your contention is Aaron Rodgers at age 37 was the same caliber QB that Rodgers was at 28-29-30?

Absolutely not. But again, Rodgers wasn't always in his late 30s. Where are his other rings without McCarthy?

LOL, just wanted to get your attention. Yeah, he's kind of the problem but there is another big issue here.

McCarthy stinks as an OC. His play calling is at times peculiar, bland, abysmal and perplexing. The RZ play calls range anywhere from bizarre to just stupid.

I went back during the game and watched a handful of plays and the number of plays we run where all our receivers run like 5 yard curls and digs at the same time is mindnumbing. Now when you add that to the fact Dak also likes to dink and dunk when uncomfortable, you get a mindnumbling bad offense. A buddy who is a coach (granted at a much lower level than the NFL) pointed out during the game how bland and vanilla we are inside the 20. We have no rub routes, no crossing routes designed to create some confusion/congestion. We don't scheme guys open like a lot of teams do. We are predicated largely on the defense making a mistake or a receiver making a contested catch.

Remember, McCarthy had arguably one of the greatest QBs of all time in Rodgers and underachieved as the OC. To the point, I believe, he gave up playcalling.

To think he's not a problem here and just rant about Dak or the WRs or the OL or whatever is stupid. Downright stupid. McCarthy is a major, major problem.
Dak is the major major problem. McCarthy could not trust dak in the final drive and thus burnt the clock with runs 2 scores down and then thinking because he had run the preceding 10 plays to let dak throw and the interception machine came through. Not McCarthy. Dak is horrible. Everyone blamed Kellen Moore but Kellen is not on the field making rookie mistakes over and over and over again. I will blame McCarthy for molly coddling the offensive line. Every one of them would have been playing. They are making millions and millions and millions of dollars to take a freakin hiatus? And the conditiong on this team? HORRENDOUS. Only game three and we have a mash unit.

He won’t be the last OC Dak gets fired.

Unfortunately what we are seeing is the anti-Dak crowd just failing to acknowledge what's painfully obvious. They want to believe Dak is the only problem.

We'll learn this lesson painfully. We could replace Dak and nothing will change. McCarthy is just not a very good OC.
Nah.. Dak’s not being asked to be an answer anymore.

He’s just running a system.

If you want someone who is more of an answer then you need to try and find an actual playmaker at the QB position.

Dak’s doing a good job at what he’s actually asked to do.

In other words, Garrett and Moore never really left?

It’s a basic offense.

Reminds me of high school.

Everything is short.

Gonna see a lot of zone defenses.

He's only been without McCarthy for 3 full seasons and in two of them, he won MVP and the Packers were in the NFCCG. Seems getting away from McCarthy kind of helped him.
