To earn what questioned respect exactly? There my fellow forum member, codenamed: Brax, what?,,,his self evident & past proven right to man the D.C Q.B.'s helm? or is it of a smaller orbital concern, like, say maybe,in the astronomical nature of an exorbitantly questionable earned/unearned upcoming pay day? Regardless of the incessant bemoaning of personally held viewed opinions, it's all only wasted time& exerted energy, as 'we' the amassed legions of fandom ,are of insignificant franchise concerns in their conducting of their franchise bizness, if the long term lock-up of intrinsically key elements are secured in an non-hamstring future fashion?, well, I'm all for it getting done( and that includes keeping the #21 happy, to be honestly truthful about it,I mean like, with the past conditioning of one& done prior post season appearances, nothing should be so adamantly displayed as to be "soul crushing",,, although, this is just my opined overall view of it,Bro!
I had to read this very slowly to understand the true meaning. Good post

I know what I wrote, which is why I asked because he clearly doesn't deserve respect at this point as he hasn't done anything to earn it.
I guess you're just not paying enough attention. The youngest starting team in the league goes to the second round of the playoffs a fourth round quarterback on-the-job training. Compared to two 1st and 2nd overall picks. A guy who puts his body on the line. So this team can achieve greatness. If that doesn't deserve respect and itself I guess your meaning of the word and mine are two different things. And I've been in the military so I know what it means the battle with the person next to you

Here's hoping Dak elevates himself this year and his team along with him in the process! Seems like it was OK for Romo to take six years to develop but God forbid that Dak should enjoy the same luxury. What's wrong with this picture? Let's face it -- we just aren't entitled to instant gratification. ;)

Romo hit the ground running as a playmaker and single handedly carried us to the playoffs when Bledsoe almost cost us the entire season.

We can wait all we want on Dak he will never be a Tony Romo type of QB. He just doesn't have Romo's talent.

Regardless, Romo got too big of a contract before he had won anything and while he may retire rich he'll also retire empty handed because his contract was too big and he wasn't good enough to win it all on his own.

Dak has the most wins since 2016 behind Brady. But obviously Wentz always getting injured and choking in 4th quarters gets the respect. Dak needs to lose more games like Wentz does.

As I said I'm a fan and believer of Dak but only way you gain respect is by your play. There are things Dak can improve on and he must do just that. Wins are clearly more important than any individual stat but for Dak to be shown the respect I think he deserves he must produce big in big games that includes post season.

I'm not even going to give Nick Foles credit for that Super Bowl. He always played with a short field if it wasn't for Eagles special teams and running game. Nick Foles I followed his entire career Cowboys have owned him. He's not going to do very well on his own just wait and see. He's an interception machine waiting to happen. He can't take the team on an 80-yard consistent Drive
Ya,the Fecals did field an exemplary special teams "show out display" during that fluke of a season that one yearo_O

I believe it was against the Falcons turn heads over heels for a touchdown in the end zone. That's when he took over as leader of this team in my opinion. He's already here in my respect. Quarterback built like a linebacker and he's not afraid to show it

I think highly of Dak and respect the work he has done, I also know to get national respect from those who cover the NFL he will have to raise his game. I think he can and will. I love the leadership of Dak and how he keeps his cool in late in games that has allowed him to put the team in a position to win. I also know he will fail to find the open man at times as guys have broke free and Dak failed to get the ball to them. Again I am a big fan but I know there is a next step he can and must take to truly get the respect around the league

It isn't truly about earning your teammates respect. And I definitely think he has done that along with many others. So ask yourself what has any sports figure. Or anybody else in social media. Have done to earn your respect. I know why I give Prescott respect. most you probably wouldn't understand it. I know what it means to put your body on the line for the person next to you.

I criticized Prescott 1st quarter 2nd quarter 3rd quarter. Come the fourth quarter he makes me eat my words. I agree totally. Not saying he's great not saying he sucks. Can't go to either extreme. I know what the alternative can be. And I know he hasn't reached his ceiling yet. For me this is the season or I can truly judge him. On-the-job training is no longer an excuse. I think he will excel. I can't wait to see what this new offense is going to look like

Last year's playoffs was the worst I have seen in quite some time so many open receivers overthrown underthrown. By the best quarterbacks in the league. Perfection I just don't think it exists. Is truly what you do when the game is on the line how you perform. And that's why I truly trust in this young kid. You seems to do his best under pressure

I'll never forget the game against the Eagles Dak Prescott pulls a Tony Romo . rolls out to his right goes left and hits Jason Witten in the endzone. classic Tony Romo spin out Never Say Never. Although I understand what you're trying to say.

Well Goff's choke job in the SB dismisses him, & Wentz is always injured. Dak shows up in the playoffs, Zeke & our d didn't in the biggest game.

Didn't know that from 2004 to 2006 was six years.

Thanks for the heads up.

As for the six years, we really can't judge a quarterback until he gets on the field. So it's not really fair to compare Romo, who sat on the bench for six years, with Dak.
Dak started Day 1. Good for him. But by doing so, he's open to a different level of criticism than the backup quarterback.
It's just like elevating a quarterback based on Super Bowl wins. It's not fair, but that's the way it is. Shrug.

Romo sat on the bench for six years.

How can you guys be taken seriously if you don't know simple facts.

I really don't care if you take me seriously or not. Six years, three years, you get the point.
Romo sat and learned. He didn't start until 2006. Dak started immediately. They are compared by the amount of time they played, not the amount of time they did not play.
Even with the mistake in stats, I provided enough information for you to discern the actual point. :)

I love Marcus Spears but he needs to stop using that argument that Dak needs players around him to succeed. What qb doesn’t? Wentz got a super bowl team built around him.

Elite QB's still perform at a high level without players around them. The problem is neither elite QB's or decent QB's like Dak win Superbowls with Big contracts.

Dallas will either pay attention to this or just pay Dak and ignore the trend.
