He is working hard to create this market for himself. Hard for me seeing the Eagles bowling him over with an offer given their needs in other areas. I guess the question becomes, at what point does this become more personal and less business with DeMarco. Or, hypothetically, if Dallas is stopping at 6 per, is it possible he discounts his services to a divisional rival just to prove a point?

I could go either way on his return, so long as we stay the course and refuse to bid against ourselves. For Murray's sake, I just hope this is another attempt at leveraging.

Things will get real interesting if the offers are the same. He did say a few weeks ago he would be a Cowboy for slightly less. But that could be because he thought he would attract more than he has.

Can someone explain to me why this is happening with Murray when he played a major role in us making the playoffs for the first time in 6 years?

is Jerry Jones that stupid?

It's not like they don't want Murray or appreciate what he means/meant to the team. But I think his asking price is just too darn high for the Cowboys. I actually applaud Jerry for sticking to his guns.

Why not give him what he wants since she showed he is worth the money?

Will you please stop making new threads whining like a 10 year old because Murray is trying to get his money. it's business. so stop acting like a 10 year old. business works both ways.

LOL

I have been a Cowboys fan over 40 years. and i have never felt this helpless. the Eagles are going to be unreal. they keep adding more and more talent. while we keep paying our own players, who are not very good. this is so sad it hurts.

Calls up the head coach of youre inter-divison rival and says he wants to play there ? Dont let the back door hit ya where the good Lord split ya !

I agree 100%. At this point I really don't even want him back. I hope Jerry goes and gets the guy we've all been talking about, the guy we all wanted for the past few months, Adrian Peterson!

*Edit* I mean "some" not "all". I know how some of you get on this board

A few year ago Jerry would have. We are running things that makes teams successful over the long haul. You can't pay every one what the want.
Murray isn't getting the offers he thought. Sucks for us but it is what it is.

Im shocked theyre "reportedly" only at the 6 million/yr point in negotiations. They appear to be sticking to their guns....

Please enlighten me as to how it plays out

Well I just did. Read it again until it sinks in. I should be asking you this question since you are the one that stated 'There are a lot of bridges to cross before he could get to Dallas. And the money won't be insignificant.' So you tell me since you have all the answers as well.

Me to, not sure it's Jerry though. The way he loves his players I know this is stinging him a bit.

If you ask me they may never have intended to pay for him. You don't run a 26 year old RB 400 times with 50+ more receptions if you are planning to sign him up for another 3 or 4 years.

I've pointed out in other threads I think Murray is trying to stick it to Jerry by going to Philly, but in retrospect as I think about it, he may have a point.

Yes, I think you may be right. Stephen strikes me as being an "it's not personal, Sonny, it's strictly business" type of guy. :)

You must have been sleep the last few days. Jerry isn't stupid enough to pay big money to a running back that just had a carry high and one of the highest ever in carries only to hamper the team years down the line.

Unfortunately for our players, I believe he is. This just isn't the same way of doing business that we are all used to. I'm fine with it.

Don't blame Murray one bit for job hunting and could care less
where he interviews. I'm just glad his trying to get out of Dallas.
The best of luck Murray we'll be tackling you.
