IT is remarkable what TO accomplished with some of the worst hands of any top WR ever
Despite his malignant personality, Owens was a baller who could take slants and break it into 60+ plus yard
homerun TDs, or consistently provide the deep go bomb routes .. he performed vs top competition, and he affected the entire field.

I don’t remember anyone else prior to Hayes very well

Yes, Irvin is the best Cowboys WR. But, I'd argue T.O. is the best WR to wear the uniform.

No no no. C'mooooon, those two are in the same coversation.

Irvin is top 10 all time. Dude was just that good.

Don't forget, Irvin caugth 12 passes in the 94 champ game w/ Deion guarding him. No one caught 12 passes on Deion.

And use to take it too D. Green with the skins.

Interesting stat:

A Cowboys receiver scored three TD's or more in a single game 20 times. The Cowboys were 18-1-1 in those games and the single loss was in overtime.

Five Cowboys receivers have done this twice, Frank Clarke, Bob Hayes, Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, and TO.

The last Cowboys receiver to accomplish this was Michael Gallup in 2019.

Only two Cowboys receivers have scored 4 TD's in a single game, Bob Hayes and TO.

Has little to do with the conversation but I just thought that was interesting.

If it’s the Super Bowl, 4th and 5 on a GOTTA HAVE IT play. Who would you want?

I’ll take Irvin on the slant to outmuscle the defender and make sure he catches the ball or dies trying.

The playmaker all day

Well, if we're including short-term rentals who made their reputations elsewhere like Lance Alworth (and I loved Bambi. He truly is one of the all time greats) then you have to include Harold Carmichael.
There's a thought on the day that we play the eagles.

I'd say Irvin, but my favorite 3 Cowboys receivers are Pearson, Irvin, TO.

His achievements w/ the 3 SBs pretty much makes him the obvious choice. Bullet shouldn’t be undersold, though.

He was so dominant in the clutch that I would take him over Rice, Moss, Dez, Owens, you name it.

Would have been 13 (plus a 4 peat) if the official didn't swallow his flag on the obvious arm bar PI by Deion......

There's The Playmaker and then everyone else.
There's no 90s dynasty without Irvin.

If you could time warp Michael Irvin into the Ice Bowl to
replace Bob "hands in my pants, jogging routes" Hayes, the
entire history of the NFL changes.

Loved Drew Pearson, the original 88, Mr. Clutch. I put him at a
distant second.

In his defense it *was* -30° or something like that....

Unacceptable. Cocaine Bob should've been a factor, or at least a decoy.
Instead, the Dallas offense had to play with 10 guys all day.

So why didn't Landry bench him for someone who was willing to play hard?

Bob Hayes
Drew Pearson
Michael Irvin

Any order, but I find it hard to say any receiver was better than Pearson. I never saw him drop a pass, and he was always money with the game on the line. All three of those guys could start today for us, no question.

Dude, the thread is about WRs. I know Hayes changed the way defenses play
in coverage. It was a moot point on that day because Bullett Bob wouldn't
run routes full speed and ran most of them with his hands in his pants.

For that reason, since the goal is to be champion, he's not going to be near
the top of my list. I'll ask Landry about it the next time I see him. My guess
is the backup didn't have the talent.

Most of that was because we were running the ball. Neither QB could grip and throw the ball any distance over 10-15 yards.
