When I watched the video I knew it was a set up. She wanted to set him up for money. Once the hotel saw all this they knew they were in the wrong. No telling what she said or offered him. So does Mike get the 100 million.
not a chance he gets that kind of money. The settlement might have involved any money at all. Mike wanted his career back, and it appears he got it back.

From what we saw in the video nothing could be proven by anyone. Irvin didn’t touch the woman in an inappropriate manner, and we couldn’t hear their conversation. The accusation she made got him suspended from NFL Network and could have gotten him fired. It could have cost him his career. Marriott has to take responsibility because they didn’t turn over the video immediately and the woman who made the accusation works for them.
Well true, Marriott got reprimanded by the judge for the video but also remember that Irvin's lawyer lied twice during press conferences and Mike's own words proved that one of the witnesses was lying as well so there's that. You can probably call it no clean hands all around.

I could see any lost wages if there were but yeah probably not some huge amount, he may ask for a public apology but the NFLN may say "Your back but we dont want anything said about this from here on out" also.

Ah, looked who showed up.

The poster who was adamant the video showed Irvin was guilty.

The poster who said all of Irvin's witnesses weren't reliable.

Now Marriott settles a defamation suit and "the playmaker" is back to work at NFLN.

Imagine.
Bro, I proved at least one of the witnesses was lying. No one wanted to talk about that back then. Imagine that. Lol. Believe me if it was the other way around it would be PROOF!

I was supportive of NFLN but I don’t recall using “ already decided”.
Come on now,
You were one of the few who repeatedly used phrases such as "women hater" to describe anyone who didn't buy her story. You clearly had decided.

When was all said and done Marriott came out the loser.

Disagree. False accusations happens much more than people believe until it happens to you. My father was falsely accused. So was my uncle and two cousins. All males falsely accused by vindictive lying women.

At the same time, just 5 years ago, my oldest daughter got her drink drugged, then raped at an off-campus college party, by an illegal POS "dreamer" who immediately fled across the border and has yet to be found. Does that mean all illegals are guilty of such things? No, not at all, but I feel anger from both sides of how it has affected my immediate family.

It's so important to get back to honoring "innocent until proven guilty" within our judicial system because we now see how destructive "guilty until proven innocent" can be against those truly innocent and their families. I don't wish anyone to be falsely accused of such heinous crimes only to be charged as guilty without evidence of proof. Horrible way to conduct justice in this country.
OMG I am so sorry about your child. I hope he gets his. We have someone that leaves the border wide open. Many bad people coming here. Drugs and everything else. Meanwhile a person that had it closed is being accused over and over for nothing.

I was a strong supporter of NFLN decision and I’m not a supporter of Irvin off the field but I didn’t use those words .

So he was innocent, I remember certain posters already putting the blame on him
I'm happy this is settled, and he can continue with something he is passionate about. The playmaker has to be playing.

If there is one lesson I would take form this it would be that Michael and people who are in the same situation you should never be talking without your lawyer present to control the dialogue and the subsequent social media narrative.

I think Michael did himself a disservice with the first interview he gave after this broke open. It didn't have a good look to it.

We can lament all we want about "wokeism" etc, but the truth is you invite the opinions of the ill-informed and reactionary when you open your mouth.

"Better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, thank to talk and remove all doubt of it."

No, it said the 100 million lawsuit was settled . It doesn’t mean anyone receives that amount of money. Most likely the settlement was dropped once he was rehired by the networks. Money doesn’t have to change hands with a settlement.

Guilty or innocent, Irvin is one of the worst behind a mic. No matter who he gets paired with, you can clearly see the look of irritation and annoyance from others. He always talks over people and slurs all over the place. Only diehard Cowboys fans thinks he has any real mic talent.

I would disagree. I don’t think people watch him for his mic skills, just his passion. Hasn’t lost a beat going from field to the TV, he keeps that same fire. Was even watching a YouTube the other day with Jason Whitlock, Brett Favre and Warren Sapp talking about Coach Prime. Whitlock mentioned that he always hated Irvin on the tube until he met him and realized everything he does is real. Probably why the fans like it better too. You’re a fan of his for this reason.

Maybe some of you will get him better by watching this speech he gave to the Colorado Team before the season began:

Back to the topic though, no matter how pumped he gets you, you have to hold him to the same standard. Goes both ways though. See a lot of people in this thread posting about sexual assault and other horrible crimes but what does that personal tragedy have anything to do with Irvin’s accusation? He was accused of flirting drunk. Regardless of what happened, when the heck did that become a crime? Also, since he is a public figure, seems like everyone has become judge and holds his past record against him. That wouldn’t happen with a non-celebrity figure. Your HR department doesn’t dig into your past job records or mistakes before employment, just the facts in that situation and your record with that company. Regardless, it’s dismissed, probably could have been handled better by everybody, live and learn. Move on and hope for best for everyone.

This is a poor choice of words. Obviously you’ve never had someone close to you who was assaulted (mom was raped and had a child from her rapist). I’ve also had to testify on a stand for someone who was falsely accused. The amount of times someone is falsely accused is nowhere near the amount of truthful cases.
Relax Francis. I have 3 girls. Many people are wrongly accused and tried and convicted by the public. You are not too stupid to see that are you?
