I love the Kings...they handed Montreal their last Cup...the Kings have a long history and have had some fantastic players. Marcel and Lucky Luc come to mind!!

Its possible Dennis Martinez pitched that game...but l could be crazy...if it was hockey...l would remember...

Another Oriole. We put up with that drunk for years. Then he leaves and gets his act together.

It was:

Jim Palmer - 73, 75, 76 Cy Young's
Mike Flanagan - 79 Cy Young
Scott McGregor
Denny Martinez

Then Steve Stone won the Cy Young in 80

You look at the different Oriole team from the late 70's until they won the world series in '83 and it seems they were always on the cusp of putting together a dynasty but were mostly just a wee bit short on pitching or hitting depending upon the season.

Winningest team of the decade in the 70's, yet only one WS win.

It was great for me growing up tho. Going to Memorial Stadium and seeing my team but also the stars on other teams. Seems every team back then had at least one or two legit stars. You would look forward to seeing the stars from the other teams. I never really hated any teams back then that I can remember. Except for the Royals.

Eddie Murray coming up in 77 was great. He was as clutch as any player Ive ever seen. The whole stadium chanting Ed-die Ed-die Ed-die in the late innings with the game on the line.

If the Mets are going to make noise this season they're going to have to have some success vs. the Nationals.

Weiters drug out the process with Boras his agent and really left the Orioles no choice. They didnt wanna wait for him to make up his mind and they got a bargain on Castillo it looks like. Probably not much difference in production. And Chance Cisco wasnt ready this year but probably will be next year so it worked out well for the Orioles.

Im sure Weiters thought he would get more but the market didnt work out that way. He gambled and lost. Just like Trumbo who turned down 4/52million from the Orioles and then ended up settling on 3/37million when nobody else offered what he was hoping for.

The Mets don't have a very good team. We have three stud starting pitchers and a horrendous bullpen. Also, the offense is pathetic with a mantra of winning by the homerun ball. Problem is.....there is only a couple of guys that can hit them decently. There are too many stiffs on the field at once for the Mets to win anything significant.

You can't win in the long run by their streaky hitting while also relying on guys who get injured every season over and over.

There is no excuse to keep getting losses or no-decisions when DeGrom, Harvey and Thor pitch........that is the 3/5 wins that are a must over the course of a long season.

Collins has no idea how to manage the pen either :(

Right now the Mets have the oldest lineup in the NL. And yeah, it's pretty much feast or famine. They desperately need a couple .300 hitters.

Astros took 2 out of 3 at Tampa. Now face a tough series in Cleveland.

Typical formula for them... The starting pitching has been been good but not great... The bullpen has been lights-out. And the offense while not leading the league in runs scored per game has been good.
