Morning, Pops and pen pals. TGIF! for you workers. I planted 12 Italian cypress trees yesterday. They will form the living wall for my outdoor retreat where I can relax and listen to soft music and the sounds of my water wall. It should be a good place to meditate if I learn how to do that. Y'all have a great day.

Morning Pops and fellow pirates for I go upon the water this day to check out some booty. Drinking rum before noon does not make me an alcoholic; that qualifies me as a pirate. Arrrrrggggggghhhhhh!

The weather and the wind have been so disagreeable that I've not ventured forth upon Lake LBJ yet this season. Sooooo, batten down the wenches and warn the hatch's, Captain CC roams the waters.

By all accounts, the flood last October shifted the terrain and created some new sand bars so I'm going out with my fancy schmancy depth finder/GPS to find the places I don't want to go in the future. I've heard there's a new long sand bar formed on my favorite part of the lake where I try to break my speed records. The current record is 50.0 under perfect conditions so I do not see breaking that and will have to stop going full out because people gather at these sand bars and bob around, I don't get the attraction but then I don't like gathering around people, bobbing or otherwise.

I'd rather fashion myself as the Lone Wolf of the Lake, the stuff of legend and I am just the guy to make some up to scare the kids and keep them from touching bottom. And for the fair wenches start one of the Lone Wolf touching bottoms.

This is the time I've given myself to either get into boating or get the hell out because it's not what I thought it was going to be. Seriously, boating alone is a real drag because I don't fish because they don't come out filleted and ready to hit the grill. With me, they have this built in defense against my predator nature.....work. If I gotta do more than open the package, work a little magic with a marinade and get it close to fire, it's safe from me. I am really not interested in what was inside my food before it became my food either.

Soooooo, if any of y'all are down my way, lemme know and I'll take you out for some SEAL training or at least your Boy or Girl Scout Water Survival badge.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to any and all who decide to stop in and visit today.

We made it to another Friday! Very grateful for that indeed!

I saw that Wentz got a new contract. Haven't really looked at it yet but I guess we'll see what we can learn from it, with regards to Dak.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, have a great day! I hope all of you have a great weekend, I myself will be busy with my Wife's family and my Father-in-laws BDay. Be careful, have fun!

That goes for the rest of you as well. Have a great weekend but please, be careful!

Well, that didn't take long. 5 days in the mines and you're already wanting a break. Getting back into it can take a lot of emotional and mental energy and you've got physical added to yours.

I am glad you are back at work because it makes me happier being retired. If nobody worked, I wouldn't feel like I'm getting by with something.

Runny, have a good weekend and I'm glad you finally earned one, ya slacker.

OK guys, I'm getting ready to shut it down for the weekend. But before I get out of here, I just want to leave you all with this. Some of you may have seen this before but it's worth watching again IMO.

To me, this is one of the best covers I've ever seen. It would be hard for me to say that it is better then the original, since the original is one of the best pieces of music ever created by mankind. To even say it is on par is saying a great deal in my book.

This is Heart preforming Led Zepplin's Stairway To Heaven. As I watch this, I am struck by the reactions of Plant, Page and Jones. I watch them and I feel as if they are looking on and seeing a moment in time where they can appreciate that music as we all do, rather then as the performers of it. I can't imagine how they must have felt watching Jason Bonham (Son of John) on drums. It's a unique moment in time. I watch the crowed and I can see them all going back to their childhoods with this piece. Politics, whatever else, none of it matters. The music crosses all lines and removes all boundaries, just makes me feel good. Please enjoy Annie and Nancy Wilson in their rendition of this truly iconic tune.

On the bright side, I think I made more money this week than in six months on disability.

Excellent find, brother! I knew they'd crush that one. Ann's voice was made for it, and the addition of a choir was genius! ...and I must add, Nancy still looks great. I saw them play outdoors, on a fairly breezy night, and it was almost studio quality.

Again, excellent find!

Wow, just wow. I've never seen that before and that was a whale of a production and I can only imagine what was going through their minds and Jason Bonham's.

I am reminded of what Plant said about never having to perform that song again when they stopped touring but that had to even move him. That was just great!

I still have 4 weeks vacation available, plus 6 personal days. I'm gonna see if I can roll one week of the vac days into next year, and not use the PDays, which they'll buy back.

The company I used to work for stopped buying back vacation. Their new policy changed to max carry over of 40 hours and what you didn’t use, you lost. The extra money from buy-back used to come in handy especially after the holidays but they put a stop to it.

My company will only buy back pdays, so I try not to use them. It's like getting another week's pay, plus when I do use them, I lose at least a couple hours of OT each time.

We can cash out near year-end. I usually put it toward the holidays. This year I think I'll be using most of it with the trips to Virginia so I better figure Christmas out soon. 5 grands eats up the checkbook pretty quick.
