Over the river and down the road to Gramma's house we go. C'mon, everybody now. Over the river and down the road to Gramma's house we go. RGV was mouthing the words again.

If you ever hear me singing, you will suggest I mouth the words next time :)

congrats Jan, I hope you’re all moved in and sitting by the fireplace drinking some hot cocoa ;)

I’m working 4-10s until this nightmare is over so tomorrow is Friday

Thank you, RGV, but unfortunately, since we had staff cuts I ended up having to work the rest of the week so I could only do very little moving after work today. Tomorrow is the same but I intend to super load the car over my lunch hour (odd benefit of living where I work) so I can leave straight from work and go unload. Trying to put away as I go so I can reuse boxes. Whatever I can't get moved with my small SUV between today (Wednesday) and Friday can go Saturday. I rented a 6x12 box trailer for the big stuff... Geez I'm pooped just thinking about it. Goodnight folks.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I'm probably gonna tinker in the workshop today and try to finish a project I started in the fall. It's a railroad lantern with two red lenses and two green ones. All of the insides are gone so I have to replace the electrical and jerry rig a way to hold the light bulb in place. It shouldn't be too difficult. Now where have I heard that before. Oh yeah, from me. Right before I spend days trying to do something that should only take a couple of hours. Hang in there guys and gals.

Good morning Pops and friends. Sounds like a lot of work. I hope you have some help. If we all resided in the same city, I have a feeling this whole gang would show up to help you out. CC would bring his sidekick so he counts as two.
Gonna finish my cup of java and back to work.

Be careful gang.

Morning Pops and everyone.

My neck hurts. My eyes and arms are tired. Forgot how physically involved moving is. Doesn't help that there's 60 stair steps from the parking lot to my security door. I should've started counting when I was hauling crap yesterday. Been a while since I had that much exercise and there's so much more to do. I can't even do this message my hands are so tired. Ugh...

Have a good day all. Time to get going for work.

I'll have help come Saturday when we move the big stuff, otherwise for now it's all me. Sounds horrible, huh? Well, I'll admit it's not too much fun for sure. Right now I need coffee! And Tylenol o_O. Thanks for the offer tho lol.

What a coincidence, I will be tinkering in my workshop (my bar) later today as well and I have an old railroad lantern but no red, all green for ole CC.

I actually do have two old lanterns owned by railroad men. My Papaw and Daddy-In-Law were both Missouri Pacific Railroad men and for the first time in 25 years, I am not living where I can hear a whistle. I can, however, hear the planes and jets going over on their approach but I miss that sound of the train. There's always been something magical about trains to me going back to my Lionel model with smoke pellets. First trip I ever took was on a train from Little Rock to Colorado with my Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

When I traveled for a living, I used the trains up in the Northeast, mostly between PHL and NYC, and I was like that kid again on his first trip away from home. I do believe I am going to get those lanterns out of the box and put them on the counter for awhile.

Morning Pops and all y'all. I am still adjusting to my most recent loss in my investments and trying to wrap my head around 22M people unemployed in a matter of weeks. I can't feel too sorry for myself considering the scary circumstances too many people find themselves in without a clear path to get back to work. The mental strain of this is going to worsen and we will have to have action and move toward something because we cannot have so many people without hope.

There is something I fear far worse than this bug and I cannot shake the feeling that it's coming if we do not fight back and sooner than later. This is the textbook damned if you do, damned if you don't but I am not hopeful that we can go through May as we are going through April. While the war against this bug goes on, the quieter, and could be even deadlier war within the mind builds and this becomes the lesser of two evil choices.

I hope you are staying busy and coping with this and that people with the toughest choices in my lifetime are able to make the "right ones".

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who have stopped in to visit this thread.

Well, we made Thursday and the day is half over. We are rounding third and headed for home!

Jan, it's a chore for sure but it will be well worth it. I remember when I was younger, I used to have a co-worker who would move like every three months. I guess she just didn't pay her rent or whatever but because I had a truck, I would always get the call. I bet I moved here 20 times if I moved her once. The last time I moved her, she was actually living in Reston Virginia and I was there on business. Sure enough, she called me up to help her move.

RG, hand in there Brother.

Leon, have fun in your workshop.

Coach, stop spending so much time in your workshop.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, have a great day all!

Everybody, double down and close out the week. Lets get this done! Have a great day everybody!

I'm glad my post awakened some happy memories, Coach. I grew up living right by railroad tracks and remember the California Zephyr passing our house on a regular basis, as well as the freight trains. My Uncle, who lived right across the dirt road from us and my cousin, both worked for the Pacific Fruit Express Railroad. I share your nostalgia about trains.
