I'll be 56 on Wednesday, so I guess the triplets concept is moot.Funny you should say that. My brothers (the twins) will be 52 in June. I'll be 53 in July...

People always thought we were triplets. My parents clearly did not think things through.I'll be 56 on Wednesday, so I guess the triplets concept is moot.
If only I had a plate of pasta on my tummy.
Roughing it for me is not having any premium channels and mini bar. I don't like bugs. I kill them if they sleep inside and I expect them to do the same to me if I sleep in their habitat. I have the same agreement I have with things in the sea that would find me tasty. Haven't seen a shark in my breakfast room in eons. Because I keep the agreement.Good morning Pops and Fellow Draftniks,
That was a pretty interesting first round last night. Above all else, I was mildly shocked at how well the remote draft worked. To be honest, I expected something like, "With the 17th pick of the 2020 draft the Cowboys select... wait a moment, it appears we have lost the connection with Dallas. Let's move on to the 18th pick"
With a much anticipated relaxation of the "stay-at-home" plan, what the heck has everyone been doing during quarantine... aside from those that are still working? I've managed to sand and re-stain all of our outdoor furniture, touch up paint all the trim inside the house, prepare the garden for planting, trim (or, outright cut-down) a couple tons of scrub oak (or, gambel oak) and completely clean my man-shed (garage). Oh, and I conducted a tour-du-force of Pinot Noirs from Russian River and Santa Rita Hills... Ha!
We are actually going camping this week in central Colorado. Mind you, my idea of camping involves, ideally, hot and cold water, and room service. I suspect I will be sorely disappointed. Nonetheless, it will be great to get away from the house for even a couple of days.
One final thing to share -- this morning, just before dawn, the two back-up cats and I went out on the balcony for sunrise. As I was about to sit down in my deck chair, a rather large, but happy looking raccoon jumped down from the adjacent chair and proceeded to chase the cats before scampering over the balcony railing and darting into the woods. For 2 or 3 minutes after the raccoon left, the middle cat continued to hiss at the edge of the balcony... my thoughts exactly.
Oh, and this marks my 2,000 post!!!

Did you play 9 different holes or the par 3 9 times?Morning, Pops and pen pals. Welcome to the weekend. I played 9 holes of golf yesterday and shot 44. That's not a bad score for me. Take care everyone.
Two nights of the draft might be enough because Mel Kiper impersonating Sam the Eagle is getting old.Happy Saturday Pops and weekenders. Yesterday hit 95 as a harbinger of what's in store for us. However, we're topping out in the high 70's today so it will be time for the return of Patio Porky. A cross between Porky Pig and the movie, Porky's. A fine drama by anyone's standards.
Two nights of the draft might be enough because Mel Kiper impersonating Sam the Eagle is getting old. And I've gotten my fix as the Creepy Peeper watching people gathered in their living rooms, some bored or asleep, waiting for the player in the room to be announced so they can jump around and consider the interest rate for the loan they plan on asking for from his signing bonus.
One observation that is interesting, at least to me. Notice any beer bottles or cans or cocktails or wine glasses in any shots in anyone's home? Why I find that interesting is that it is obvious to me that some of those people are toasty. They should do a time lapse shot of the Eason family, pretty soon there would just be the soles of their feet sticking out of that sectional. They're bored, tired and the woman is questioning why she ever got pregnant with Jacob. If he doesn't get picked in round 4, she's going to get up and go over and slap her husband and storm off to the bedroom. Probably not but when I get bored, I let my imagination run free and I would really like to see that. Nothing against him but he shouldn't let me get bored.
And speaking of toasty, and I was, did Goodell get a little too toasty as the show went on? By the end, I thought he was going all Foster Brooks on us. Which would have livened it up quite a bit and ratcheted up the entertainment value for yours truly.
Dabz! Git back in that boat and sink your teeth into Jerry where the sun don't shine! You have had your shots, right? I also like your upgraded mask. It's be-you-tea-full!
Oh Doll, I wish you and Bailey all the best! When you mentioned loss of appetite, my mind flashed back to my dog...and so did my heart. I know what you're going through and I feel for you.Afternoon Pops and friends. I guess I have a story to tell that I wish I didn't about Bailey. No need to feel sorry for me because I've done enough of that myself this week. She stopped eating two weeks ago and became lethargic. I thought it would pass after her appetite returned. When she turned down bacon, I knew it was serious. She saw her doctor Monday morning, was kept all day and released with a "not out of the woods" status that evening. She was back the next day and released that afternoon with "we've done all we can". I was given a tube of vitamins and calories along with steroids for her. Yesterday I spoke with the younger vet. From some other symptoms she has, he believes it's a brain tumor. I can't fight that and all the KFC in the world wouldn't help it. I didn't think the cruelty of 2020 would dare take Bailey too. I've come here every day, but wouldn't utter these words of resignation..
Thank you all for your entries in our Cowboys diary. I've enjoyed and cherished each one. Montanalo made me feel guilty about my big accomplishment of rearranging my sock drawer during the self isolation. As for Jan, things are supposed to be guaranteed for life at Bed Bath and Beyond if they can stay in business. I thought about it for your vacuum. I also suggest getting on their mailing list for coupons.
Last night was a special weather event that had me looking at our local weather man instead of the draft. I was not happy. I found myself looking forward to that "and the So And So Team has picked" music. I'd hoped every athlete picked would not feel required to compete in the unfortunate talent portion of the 2020 Mr. America draft with a song, dance or baton skills. Mr. Weather Man cut in and told me something was heading my way in a few minutes that was worse than a tornado. First I've heard of this. It was powerful winds that was in a 20 mile wide path coming with hail and rain. It came and sounded like the hippos from Fantasia dancing across my roof in cleats. I opened the back door to see what size hail it was and one hit me on my toes. Shut door and end scene.
Has anyone watched the people hand signing next to government officials? I think deaf people are getting better stories than we are. I don't think the one next to our Governor is signing what he says. Those hands are just doing different stuff than what I'm hearing. I imagine it goes something like this "Ok, he's just repeating what he said yesterday so I'm going to tell you about a Catholic priest, Jewish rabbi and Southern Baptist preacher at an inter-faith convention in New Orleans when the AC went out. Stay tuned tomorrow for the hitch hiking Aggie." Another signer would take a deep breath after each sentence then go to town with his hands. I'm afraid that one has a lisp.
