I completely over looked the Splenda part and I'm ashamed for throwing out another recipe like it was in a competition. The cobbler/life insurance story is troubling. How do you use restraint when your weakness is staring at you? One bite at a time! That's how.

We know you're a sweet guy underneath all that snorting and snarling at the new members. Woe unto anyone that has a pastry chef for a close relative though. I've got mean relatives that would just call me up and tell me how good it was. I bought my cousin some chocolate covered pretzels for Christmas one year. Some came broken, so I ate them. The box didn't look right so I broke some more and ate them. I eventually told him what I did and he's been mad ever since.

One lesson I learned from my daddy was if you do something poorly enough, you won't be asked to do it again. You enjoy cooking though, so I'm sorry to hear about your baking rejection. They may have been the best cookies ever made but your boys taste buds weren't sophisticated enough to handle them. (I have a ton of lies that help me through the pit falls of life. Feel free to use the ones you find helpful.)

I think you've talked about those Key Lime Pie cookies before. They sound amazing.

Honey, you really need to stop feeling badly for the things you post. You've never posted anything I've found objectionable. In fact, I (and probably everyone else) always make a point of reading your posts, because you combine a genuine caring with biting sarcasm and some self deprecation.

I echo this sentiment, Runny. @Xelda, you are wonderful. Truly wonderful. And I hope you are sleeping like a bug in the rug right now, Zel.

I'm sorry ABQ, I shouldn't have done that. I just got eager with your recipe and remembered this one.
Where does it say we can have only one cookie recipe and yours isn't anything like his.

Not a competition but sharing of favorites and new things for all to enjoy. This forum is just one big Show & Tell.

About those magnificent and underappreciated Tollhouse cookies. My wife got home and I gave her one and asked "what's wrong with them"? She replied "tastes like ****". I actually preferred my sons reaction to them to hers. What about my feelings? A promising baking career doomed because of honesty.

Morning pops, friends.....
Hopefully the love and happiness remains in this thread because the main threads are like the world is ending. Holy hell.
G, what did you expect, form what I've seen in gen pop, it's as bad , if not worse, than the old forum. It's like I told my wife on our wedding night "darling, life is all about managing your expectations".

When I saw some of the predictions for the game and season, I felt this could get bad. Hell, good thing those posters weren't in the cave with that Thai soccer team.

Here's the thing, it's only game one and some fans want to wipe the slate clean not understanding how long it would take to be successful.

And it's much worse here. The old forum had it's areas to avoid, but they don't seem to care about having 15 "Kill Prescott" threads. You can't even have an honest discussion or debate, it's not as fun. Thank God for this thread. But I learned pretty early on to avoid a few nasty posters. That's one of the reasons I liked the old forum. They created that Romo forum and it allowed fans to talk about other things with the team. Here it doesn't matter. You can start a thread with specific instructions to discuss Special Teams for example and it will morph into "Anti- Jerry, Prescott or whoever." Very discouraging.
Guess i'll just hang around here.

They do merge threads but they're not as "Wednesday conscious" as our old group of mods were. Get it all out of your system and let's turn to the next game on Wednesday. And they were pretty much look the other way and let some get back with some real venom but then it was time to shift the focus.

If I were staff here, I would let everyone know that beginning on Wednesday's, all venting threads will be moved to the Drama Zone, want to stay in that mode, you'll know where to go. There's just too much *****ing and whining about one game, and I did start a Wednesday's thread and I am sure I'll catch some heat for that but I think it is incumbent on all of is to try to make this place the best it can be.

But you do bring up an interesting point. I have noticed some longer term posters here spend most of their time in the Members Zone or Off-Topic and just do some drive-by's out in gen pop and I've seen several reference how bad it can get.

But, let's be honest, no fandom has to endure what we have to with this family run business and that does have a cumulative effect on people. And being a fan isn't the most logical or rational state of mind.

Well, you don't have to wonder why Greg liked it over here so much, 80% of the threads morph into Booger hate. Hell, I am not giving him that much of my time or that kind of power over me.

Good morning Pops and friends. Happy Friday Eve. Thank you for the kind words, understanding and encouragement. Have a good one and keep on keeping on.

That's what Jerry Jones has been telling us for decades.
