Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who stop in and visit today.

Hope everybody had a great Easter Weekend! We had the Kids over and all the Little ones had an Easter Egg hunt and water gun fights. The Older Kids had a Water Balloon Fight. Of course, there are Balloon pieces all over the back yard so I got some work to do.

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Have a great week!

Everybody, it's draft week so get all your stuff done so that maybe you can watch a little of the Draft if you care too! Have a good one!

Afternoon Pops and friends. I finished my flower bed too, Leon. I reached the point to where any place in the ground was good for me. I helped a neighbor put a battery in her riding lawn mower today. She's terrified of electrical things and I don't have the good sense to care, so it was a perfect storm. We got it done and I'm still amazed that the mower actually started. All's well that ends well. Have a good day and be safe out there.

Afternoon Pops and everyone.

Question for you all... Does anyone know of a legitimate source through which I may purchase a 1991 and 1992 U.S. Mint proof set? Must be in perfect condition.

I found someone local I will be calling tomorrow, but in the event they don't have what I need I'll need another reliable source.

Hope everyone made it through Monday.

I'm sorry Gramma, I don't have a single connection to the U.S. Mint. I should correct that and start schmoozing.

Nor do I... and I already checked into getting old sets from them but they just don't carry them. Thanks for responding tho. I'll find what I need eventually, I just have to be careful that I don't get 'taken' by some dishonest jerk. I have two sets of each year from '93 through 2019, but somehow only got 1 of each for '91 and '92. I started collecting these the year my daughter was born (a former employer got me started on this). I have a set for each of my kids and some pretty special ones for each grandkid so far (special gold and silver coins). Never touched by human hands and they come from the Mint encased in plastic. Just stunning!

Hopefully I can find a lead on these two sets before too long. I'm very impatient. I didn't realize I only had one set of those two years until I was putting this year's issue away in the fireproof safe and did an inventory.

Good thing you're approaching this thing cautiously. Too many will over value the coins and try to rip your head off. Get a general consensus of their value ahead of time. I guess you already knew that, but it's the best I've got. Good luck!
:thumbup:Yes ma'am. Definitely.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. I made it to Oklahoma and back safely and was blessed with better than expected traffic flows in both directions. I went by myself and the solitude on the way up there was very enjoyable. I have a crepe myrtle tree to cut down today. We want to plant a Japanese maple in it's place.

Take care, my friends.

I commuted to OK for 9 years and lived there for the last 4 of that and was always glad I made it back safely to anywhere else. The entire state is populated with Walmart People. However, I was in the south central part where meth is king and queen. I was convinced that science would name a new species, Homo Methamphetaminus. A subhuman species that they will not be able to identify decades from now because of the lack of dental records.

Afternoon Pops and friends. Glad you made it back in one piece, Leon. The last time I remember intentionally going to Oklahoma, the sound was in the middle of a record heat wave. I'd step out of an air conditioned building or car and feel my pores open immediately. Was not pleasant at all. I'm sure the train I rode out of Denver went through Oklahoma on my way to Texas. That trip held all sorts of memories, but I'm drawing a blank for Oklahoma. It was a lot like Trains, Planes and Automobiles minus the planes and John Candy. Altitude sickness in Denver had me praying for sea level.

Nothing big going on today around here, so have a good day everyone.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. We had rain, lightening and thunder here all night long and it's still going. It's supposed to keep raining for two more days. I hope it's not too much water for my newly planted bulbs and plants. Have a good day, folks.

Good morning Pops and Zoner Friends,

In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love. Spring is the season for love.

"Locksley Hall,” by Alfred, Lord Tennyson

It is not just a young man's fancy. I love Spring and, especially so, in the Rockies. Flowers are in bloom, trees budding and, of course, the wildlife. I saw our first black bear of the season in the backyard yesterday.

We have friends visiting from Scotland and have been showing them the sites. Yesterday, it was Breckenridge and today is downtown Denver.

It was funny - we stopped at a local distillery yesterday and the minute the staff heard my friend's Scottish accent, they wanted to talk single malt whisky. They brought out the reserve bourbon for us to taste. Too bad I was the designated driver.

:)

I can't be trusted, therefore I am the designated drinker.

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to anybody who decides to stop in and check out the thread.

Is everybody ready for the Draft? I honestly have no idea what we end up doing there but might be kinda cool to have no agenda and just watch the draft unfold. Yeah, no..... I'm trying to convince myself that it's going to be interesting with no 1st round pick. I know.........

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, how goes the battle guys? Hope everybody is doing well today.

Hump day so lets get over the top and start heading towards the weekend! Everybody, have a great day!

Morning, Pops and pen pals. Other than an appointment with the retinal specialist this looks like a lazy day for me. Is anyone going to watch the draft tonight? My cup is almost empty and needs some more coffee to fill it up so I'll just say I hope everyone has an enjoyable day and leave it at that.

Morning Pops and everyone.
I'm told Rock Island Illinois has a history in the draft and they are doing some portion of it there...(?) Anyway, Rock Island is literally 5 minutes from me. Short trip across the Mississippi. I never knew until this year that they were involved in some way years ago.

On another note, one of my grandson's friends in Virginia just got diagnosed with a form of cancer caked Ewings sarcoma. Don't know what stage. Charlie is 7. I can't even describe the heartbreak I feel. He's facing 3 months of chemo, surgery then more chemo. For those of you who do, prayers for him, please. Poor little guy...

You all try to have a blessed day.

Even if I didn't, I would say one for Charlie and his family and your grandson. My wife worked with Make-A-Wish in PA working hands on with the families after a wish was granted up to the point of the child getting their wish. I often asked her "why ask for heartache, isn't there enough without going to look for it"? Then I accompanied her to a picnic for the area wish families and volunteers and saw first hand why they do that. BTW, my wife's answer was "I am just helping angels get back home". Anyone who knew her would have just nodded in agreement.

Gramma, thanks for this post. Got up this morning all grumped up and feeling sorry for myself heading to Austin to get fitted for a brace and this put my head in the right place. Charlie, you and others here are fighting/have fought real battles and old selfish CC world needs to be reminded of that.

Thanks, CC... there's a whole lot of this kind of thing happening to so many people near me or near to others I am acquainted with. Reminds me to be thankful I was blessed with more time to do my best for others. Have a wonderful day and a safe trip. (We are all entitled to grumpy days btw...)
