I thought maybe I was taking tyron's injury a little too hard maybe making too much of it until I saw Nate Newton on national television.

He was being prodded by his friend Michael Irvin to try and say something positive about our offensive line.
Nate was flat out so disgusted that he said there was nothing good about the offensive line that Josh Ball was no good.

Michael kept trying his best to put a spin on it but Nate was having none of it he was flat out disgusted and made his feelings known on national television this was really telling to me as to the true state of our offensive line
I think nate would know
As he's been there and done that.
Our oline used to be a strength, now its average to a weakness.

We had a running game. We lost Pollard and l basically Elliot. And our TE. All in a few games. We have let the O-Line slip for a while trying to build the Defense. They are going to have to carry us for a while.

We had a running game until Tyron Smith went down.

The announcers last night seemed convinced the Cowboys will start Tyler Smith at LT (except Mike and Nate). They probably have more intel than the posters here. Oh vey

They weren’t necessarily not convinced ,they just voiced their stark concerns.

Regardless whatever we think , believe, our concerns and reservations, our choices appear to be fairly limited at least based on what we’ve heard from our leadership.

Keep dreaming buddy. Its not happening. Mcgovern slides in once that happens and he sucks.
I agree he couldn’t beat out Williams last year for the job. Who is the other guard we drafted. Is his shoulder gonna need surgery.

Joseph left with a concussion which I guess makes Nashon Wright somehow safe to make the 53 . Both of these picks do not give me a warm and happy feeling seeing them in coverage . DaRon Bland has surpassed both of them .

I trust Nate. Tyler needs a year at least. Maybe 2. To me, Tyler needs 2 be left at LG full time and he can be a 10 year starter and stud at LG. He isn't an NFL tackle. He is a mauler and his best fit is guard. Nate even says this.

Nate is 100% right on this this young man needs a year to mature and learn offensive line play in the NFL.

He needs to put on man weight and strength and not be thrown to the wolves in the left tackle position one of the most difficult spots in football.

We don't need him losing his confidence and becoming a penalty machine because he is pushed into a situation he is not ready for too fast all because Jerry didn't prepare properly again

No doubt having better OL play is a plus...but again I'm saying the majority of NFL teams are doing good to have 1 above average OL on thier team....we have weapons if the OC braintrust decides to keep using them like we have the best OL in football thats a gross miscalculation on them. They need to use the weapons and help the OL out we will see if they do.

Nate was awesome last night.

He certainly was it was very refreshing in a time where everyone is so concerned about everybody's feelings and who's going to get butt hurt that the truth never really comes out.

Nate told it like it was and no one can question him because he walked the walk and talk the talk and has pro bowls and super bowls to show for it.

It's great when every once in a while The story doesn't get sugar-coated and just gets told the way it is

Nate knows offensive line play. Our line is transitioning. The Cowboys should sink or swim with Tyler and Steele. It will look bad at times but on the bright side by the end of the season we could have bookend tackles.

It should not be in transitioning mode. We should b e building to wi. it all. Philbin needs to go and Jerry/Stephen needs to get out of football completely.

This front office uses the square peg/round hole technique!

Agreed! They do a remarkably poor job of failing to develop players, or scheming them and putting them in a position to succeed…but they do a great job of sending/cutting players who go to other teams who are able to contribute.

I would like to hear Irvin and Romo commentating together.

He and Romo would be the best pair ever in terms of analysis.

That's what Irvin's good for.

That said, neither he or Nate are %100 correct.

The actual truth llies somewhere in the middle.

If they start this rookie at LT the season is lost.

I think Tyler can be all pro good at guard. Not sure about Tackle.

I would much prefer to sign a guy like Fischer and let Tyler play the first year at guard.

I think in 3 years, he could be a very solid tackle, possibly all-pro. But he would be an all-pro guard off the bat.

Or until he gets his blocking down in areas where he doesn't have to use his hands as much. We'll see. He seems to be a fast learner. How fast is the question.

I think he has the brains to temper his bad tendencies.

But talk about a crash course at the position.

There'll be some growing pains, for sure.

He basically said they all sucked. Which they do. The Oline is the worst its been since the early Romo days. This really is a nightmare.

The Giants have a better line than we do. Its bad.

Yeah it was great. Nate was having none of the delusional Jerry kool-aide.

For those that missed it it went down basically like this

Commentators: "so Nate you what do you like about tonights o-line"

Nate: "To be honest nothing, #68 looks like the only person tonight who even has the potential to make the final 53 man roster"

Commentators: (*in absolute shock that Nate said everyone else including Ball isn't NFL ready) "uhh what about Ball, he seems to be coming along slowly"

Nate: "No he really isn't, he's not ready for the NFL and can't handle the speed of the NFL. These guys are killing him either straight off the line or he plants his feet too heavy and they just easily go around him"

Commentators: *awkward silence
