Who said he should take less than he's worth? I said it would be a good opportunity to prove his leadership, by taking a deal that would allow the team to surround him with everything he needs to succeed. If he can't succeed with less, he's not worth it.

YOU did. You said Dak should be a leader and take a "low priced contract." No, he should not. He should take a contract based on his worth.

And the team had 3 years to surround with everything he needs to succeed. Times up. Pay that man his worth.

The Eagles are going to pay Wentz his worth, so are the Rams Goff, so are the Bears Trubisky. So did the Colts Luck, the Raiders Carr, and the Lions Stafford.

If those teams can figure out how to pay their QBs their worth...surely the Cowboys (that got a 3-year head start) can figure out how to pay Dak his worth...and surround him with everything necessary to succeed.

Maybe we can sign that great quarterback the Eagles have after the season .. you know .. Foles :D

Risen complaining about giving Dak 15 million and would have Jerry play 200 million for Wince who had proven that he can't finish seasons without getting injured and who keeps getting one upped by the back up QB on his own team. But Risen and Wince CowboysZone Wince fanclub would be more than fine with their QB getting a huge contract on a team that built a shrine for Foles and in a city that will always view Foles as their hero. :lmao::muttley:

The real news in this is that Sanders has his own show. He is the football equivalent of a televangelist. He offers absolutely nothing. What a crock.

Nate says he’s a 13-15 mil QB
That’s probably right but that’s not the market
Avg QB’s are gonna get 20 mil or more and that’s just what the market is
QB’s are not paid in tiers where an avg guy get a percentage less than a elite guy. Maybe they should but till something is changed in the CBA to limit what any one player can get the QB is gonna get over paid. Agents love it but the other players shouldn’t because an avg LB or CB is gonna end up getting less in the long run
But the market is the market and Dak is gonna get more than he should just like cousins did and most others do
There are so few elite QB’s and teams know it’s impossible to win in today’s game without atleast an avg QB

You're right. Look at the deal Case Keenum got. Dak is similar to Keenum but he has the ability to run which increases his worth.

Anyone who thinks he'll be paid less than Bortles isn't being real with themselves. Dak shouldn't be a top paid QB but he'll be in the $20million/year range.

I have to disagree. It's the ultimate team sport with too many variables that come into play to say a quarterback can carry his team to a Super Bowl.

Moon, Kelley, Marino, Fouts, Tarkenton, all Hall of Famers and "top rated QB" could not get their team a Super Bowl win. Yet, against all odds, guys like Eli (2), Flacco, Dilfer, MacMahon, Hostetler and Rypien did win one.

Now look at the top rated guys who can carry teams like Favre, Rodgers, Brees, Wilson -- but think about it - in their illustrious careers, they've only been able to win one each - just one.

So many things have to go right including having a good defense, home field, weather and probably most importantly official's calls. That being said Dak could absolutely win a Super Bowl, but you're right, he's not going to carry the Cowboys to a Super Bowl. Lastly, I don't think he's ever going to be a top ten quarterback. The things you can't teach like pocket presence and accuracy will always put him behind many others, but he just might be good enough to possibly win one.

Time will tell.

That’s well stated sir.

Either 4 for 72 with 40 guaranteed or 5 for 80 40 guaranteed. He gets his 20 the first two years and at that point if he isn’t improving you wash your hands and cut ties. The guy is clutch but the blunders through qtrs 1-3 force him to be clutch. Romo was is my favorite Cowboys QB and with him you always felt like you had a chance till the end but always worrried about the blunder in the end. Dak will blunder early and gives me the impression he is learning to clean up his slop at the end. Like I stated already the guy is clutch but has to be by his own doing.

What team besides the cowboys would offer Dak 20 million a year?

My point is, he needs more talent around him than most QBs, and those people need to get paid.

The team clearly likes foles. Wentz May not be playing for the eagles in 5 years.

Rodgers is the highest paid and he didnt even !ake the playoffs!!! Stafford and Ryan are staying home too.

Wich is the MAIN reason people don't want to pay Dak!!

If a once in a generation type talent can't win win a Super bowl (because of poor talent around him) what makes you think a JAG Can?

After Dak gets paid, the team will only get worse around him!

The smart thing would be to draft another QB (Just ask him to limit mistakes and not try to win the game himself) and use the money on depth and build an all around good team..

The ONLY way you pay a guy 25 million or more is if you believe he can make other JAGS around him better wich, Dak sure as heck can't do..

There is no good scenario in wich you pay a JAG QB 20 million a year and expect to compete. Not even Elite guys can overcome weak teammates so what makes you think a JAG will? Smart move is draft his replacement untill you find a guy who you think can "carry" the team then you may pay him but even then it's not worth it..
