Nate Thomas got exposed

Thomas is a solid player. Great backup for the offensive line going forward. Last night was a big boy football game and he was far from the worst player we had out there.
You’re right. He was only the worst on offense. Third worst on the team.

Nathan Thomas - 29.7 (82 snaps) - 53.2 run blocking grade, 16.3 pass blocking grade

Markquese Bell - 29.5 (27 snaps) - 70.6 run defense grade, 29.5 coverage grade, 78.0 tackling grade

Shavon Revel - 28.5 (62 snaps) - 35.5 run defense grade, 29.0 coverage grade, 33.8 tackling grade

Not really. The Cowboys' gameplan was exposed.

Nate Thomas was a 7th round pick making his second career start and the Cowboys decided to give him no help at all against Aiden Hutchinson.

I mean what did they expect him to do? Transform into Tyron Smith during a commercial break? Terrible coaching.

They were giving both him and Steele help. I don’t think it was enough help to help them last night.

Yeah, acquire a skillset that he doesn't possess?

Is Revel getting this same treatment? He got beat just as bad as Thomas, but I don't see people declaring he can't play and never will.

As they shouldn't. Revel is a very young player going through the fire as a rookie. But so is Thomas.
Revel? Should new Revealed.

ONLY good news is I don't have to read the following three threads anymore:
  • Trade CeeDee, Re-Sign Pickens
  • Replace Guyton with Nate.
  • Jerry Jones is GM of the Year.
All posters who supported these topics are now on probational Zoner status. :muttley:
Today's news:

Pickens is a cancer, just like in Pitt
Nate can easily replace Guyton as LT is an easy position to play, especially against a HOF type D on the other team
Jerry sucks, let's fire everybody

This place is psycotic

Every one of these guys should be cut.

He's not a LT type. Project OL type, yes. He doesn't have the skillset for OLT.

Disagree. There's a ton that separates them, namely physical skillset.
Its all good.
Disagree on Guyton.
Advance notice for incoming BlueBlood type volume.

-His punch is average especially for such a large man and he has narrow shoulders, strange physical build for a man his size.

-He still trips over his feet when moving laterally, while not as bad as last year its still there.
-Defenders shake his latch fairly easily.
-He has some decent movement in the run game but inconsistent.
-On the above note he'll never be Tyron but utilizing outside runs and him pulling more could help accentuate his athleticism.

-Big boy D ends (the better to elite ones)still cause him extreme probs.
Extreme.

-His whole debate is overcoming what he was last year to this year as a very low bar standard while also trying to see noticeable progress being made. You see more progress than I do especially considering his draft status.
-Considering how important LT is, I would like a better option going forward. You obviously are okay with his incremental progress.

Agree to disagree.
No worries.

He’s a 7th round rookie. Hard for me to say he got exposed he’s just what he is. The replacing Guyton garbage hopefully is seized.
That was more about the game situation. We were down and couldn't leave someone in to help him.

What do you expect him to be able to do against Hutchinson? There are not a ton of LTs who can handle him one-on-one all game. There is a reason he is double-teamed at least half the time.

Or is it that he had to go play after play after play against one of the best pass rushers in the league?

Do people really think Guyton wouldn't give up multiple sacks and pressures going 20 or 30 obvious passing snaps against Hutchinson? We were so far behind, they didn't have to worry about the run at all.

Chazzy Green lol oh those were the days. The human turnstile.
No worse than Parcells and Pettiti......poor kid.

Not sure what you’re asking are you saying what do I expect him to do? Look like a 7th round rookie.

Oh, I'd rather have a different OLT. I wasn't happy w/ the Guyton pick at all. Project pick in the 1st? Ick. Problem is, he's the only OLT type on the roster. And I hate that.

I really don't know what you're disagreeing w/.
